My name is Muhsin, which is one of Allhs Beautiful Names. Whenever

somebody who knows me wishes to call me, he will say Muhsin, a name

that ! cannot chan"e since it is recorded in all official documents #ertainin" to me.

!s it unlawful or Makruh $disliked% for me to have this name& And who carries the

burden of the sin ' is it u#on those who named me, or u#on me&

Al'Muhsin is one of Allhs attributes, and ! do not know of it as bein" one of

(is names. Al-Ihsan $"enerosity and kindness%, from which Al'Muhsin is

derived, is a descri#tion of Allhs actions, and #raise be to Allah, one can have the

name Muhsin as lon" as it is only intended as a name and not somethin" that

si"nifies anythin" further. )ne of the *ro#hets +om#anions was known as (akim,

which is also one of Allhs names, and even thou"h, the *ro#het did not chan"e

his name. !f your name si"nifies nothin" other than a desi"nation by which you are

known, then it is #ermissible for you to continue to "o by it.
