SHES MemorialMy proposal for the SHES memorial will honor the 26 lives lost on 12/14/12 and offer a dedicated space for the community and family member to pay their respects. The memorial consists of 26 chairs that are constructed out of steel tube with a reflective finish. Below each chair will be a stone plaque with the names of the 26 students and teachers whose lives were taken. Mid-way up the legs of the chairs will be places that allow people to leave flowers making it appear as though the chairs are resting on a cloud of foliage. On December 14th of every year the flow-ers will be replaced with candles in a ceremony to commemo-rate the anniversary. The ideal location of the memorial would be in Ram Pasture allowing the 15’ tall structures to be the focal point within the landscape.
