Ways to Give

Sunshine Hospitality Home Project

There are many ways you can make a difference for the Sunshine Hospitality Home Project! Here are some of the

ways you can truly affect the lives of others.

Your charitable contribution, whether it be in the form of volunteering, making a donation, or simply spreading the

word, can make a difference. Thank you for your generosity.

If I have more questions, who can I contact?

Feel free to contact the Sunshine Memorial Foundation to talk with Donovan Larson or Jena Pierce at 701-738-2462

or [email protected], or reach out to your financial advisor for specific details.

The information presented is not legal or tax advice, but is intended as accurate general information. The Sunshine Memorial Foundation is thrilled

to assist you with your giving needs and opportunities that are available but you should also seek the advice of a qualified estate and/or tax professional.

The Sunshine Memorial Foundation is committed to planning and raising the funding to successfully seeing the Sunshine Hospitality Home project through

to completion. All of the efforts and energies are being directed at this project. If you have an interest outside of this project, please contact the Foundation

for further conversations.

Please Note: 8% of all contributions made to the Sunshine Memorial Foundation will be designated to the organizations administrative and operational

expenses.

All gifts to the Sunshine Memorial Foundation are tax deductible to the extent provided by law. Please consult your tax advisor. The Sunshine Memorial

Foundation is organized as a North Dakota nonprofit corporation, is exempt from federal tax liability by Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c)(3) and

qualifies as a public charity under Internal Revenue Code Section 509.

Give a Direct Gift

This is the simplest way to make a gift. It can be a personal check, credit card, money order, bank draft, electronic

debit, stock, or property. A pledge may also be made and paid off within 3-5 years.

Endowment

An endowment will help to sustain the Sunshine Hospitality Home for the future! North Dakota tax payers may

receive a special tax credit for gifts to an endowment.

Bequests and Planned Giving

Please consider putting the Home in your will or other testamentary agreement. A charitable remainder trust, gift

annuity, or outright bequest, are ways to leave a lasting imprint in our communities and region.

Matching Gifts

You or your spラ┌ゲWげゲ Wマヮノラ┞Wヴ マ;┞ Sラ┌HノW ┞ラ┌ヴ ェキaデ ┘キデエ ; マ;デIエキミェ ェキaデ ヮヴラェヴ;マく Cラミデ;Iデ ┞ラ┌ヴ エ┌マ;ミ ヴWゲラ┌ヴIWゲ department to pick up the necessary form to accompany your gift.

In Kind Gifts

In kind gifts offer the project your best resources without having to write a check. In kind gifts include

construction materials, laundry services, landscaping, furnishings, specialty services, and many others.

Make a Pledge

This is the simplest way to make a difference and will have a bigger impact on the project. A pledge allows

for a bigger gift and may be made and paid off within 3-5 years. Anything is within reach. The following

illustrations are an example of how easy giving can be!

You can make a $50,000 difference. Here is how.

Pledge: $50,000 Timeframe: 5 years/60 months Monthly payments: $833.34

You can make a $25,000 difference. Here is how.

Pledge: $25,000 Timeframe: 5 years/60 months Monthly payments: $416.66

You can make a $10,000 difference. Here is how.

Pledge: $10,000 Timeframe: 4 years/50 months Monthly payments: $208.34

You can make a $1,000 difference. Here is how.

Pledge: $1,000 Timeframe: 1 year/12 months Monthly payments: $83.34

Monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, or annual payments may be automatically charged to a credit card or

withdrawn from a bank account.

North Dakota Tax Credit Opportunity

Now you can take advantage of a very generous North Dakota tax

credit and support the Sunshine Hospitality Home Project at the same

time! The North Dakota tax credit is a great incentive to give to an

existing endowment fund.

A goal of the Sunshine Hospitality Home Project is to have a $500,000

endowment that will help to support annual costs of running and maintaining the home.

The qualifications for the tax credit are very simple:

North Dakota resident filing ND tax.

The gift must be made to a qualified North Dakota endowment fund.

Minimum gift of $5,000 in a calendar year which can be the total of multiple gifts to the same endowment

throughout the year as long as they total $5,000 or more.

The benefits of the tax credit are calculated as follows:

Amount of the annual gift times 40%.

Maximum ND tax credit of $10,000 for an individual filer ($25,000 gift x 40%). NOTE: This is also the maximum

for a qualified business filing North Dakota tax.

Maximum ND tax credit of $20,000 for married individuals filing jointly ($50,000 gift x 40%).

Ability to carry forward unused tax credits for up to three additional tax years.

Here is an example of what the tax credit would look like based on the 28% tax bracket.

Gift Amount $5,000 $25,000 $50,000

Federal Tax Deduction $1,400 $7,000 $14,000

ND State Income Tax Credit $2,000 $10,000 $20,000

Net Cost of Gift $1,600 $8,000 $16,000
