Morning Keynote   8:00–9:00 amOrlando Bowen  Game Changer & Motivational Speaker

New BeginningsTen years ago, Orlando thought he was about to die. Pinned to the ground and enduring a savage beating, the then-CFL linebacker had been jumped by two plainclothes police officers, an injustice which was the first of many laid against

him at the hands of the police force. "In that moment, knowing my life was about to end, I'm thinking, I didn't give everything I had to make a difference." Later completely exonerated of any wrong doing, Orlando incredibly has publicly forgiven his perpetrators and has dedicated his life to inspiring others to pursue excellence in all they do. He spent five seasons in the CFL with the Argos and Hamilton Tiger-Cats, before the concussion he suffered at the hands of the police forced him to quit the sport. Orlando is now the founder and Executive Director of, One Voice One Team Youth Leadership, which empowers youth to utilize leadership skills and talents to better themselves and their community. He has been repeatedly recognized for his incredible work. He was bestowed with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2013; and was the national 2014 Harry Jerome Award winner for community service.

Afternoon Keynote   12:30–1:30 pmDr. Greg Wells   CTV Sport Science Analyst and Human Physiologist

Eat. Sleep. Move. Throughout his career, Dr. Wells has coached, trained and inspired dozens of elite athletes to win medals at the Commonwealth Games, World Championships and Olympics. As a high school student, Dr. Wells broke his neck in a freak

swimming accident. Told by his doctor that he would never perform as an athlete again, he went on to compete at the international level in swimming. The world is in a health crisis, caused by three main factors: poor sleep, lack of physical activity, and poor nutrition. The

answer to the world’s health challenge is therefore incredibly simple. We need to Eat Better, Move Better and Sleep Better. Dr. Wells will show you how you can improve your health, fitness and performance using simple techniques that can make incredible differences in your life.

BOOK SIGNINGDr. Wells will be signing copies

of his book following his keynote address.

Marijuana Legalization and the WorkplaceLarry Masotti, Director of Strategic Relationships Workplace Safety & Prevention Services (WSPS)

As of October 17th, 2018, recreational Marijuana will be legal in Canada. What does that mean for Ontario workplaces? It is more important than ever that managers and employees effectively recognize and manage the safety risks of substance use, abuse, and impairment. Attend this awareness session to learn more about the subject, understand the implications to health and safety, and what changes will have to be made to existing policies and procedures.

Sleep Loss and Fatigue in Shift WorkersDr. Stacy Irvine, Founder and Co-Owner, Totum Life Science

Shift work is highly prevalent in today’s environment. Night work specifically has pronounced negative effects on sleep; causing sleepiness, decreased performance, increased accident risk, and other negative health outcomes. The combination of day-oriented circadian rhythm with the requirement for work and sleep at the wrong biological time of day and working long duration shifts greater than 12 hours may lead to a diagnosis of shift work disorder. Learn more about this prevalent challenge and walk away with tools you can use that may help to reduce the risk.
