Kohler

John Michael Kohler founded this company in 1873, when he purchased

the Sheboygan Union Iron & Steel Foundry. The firm originally produced

cast iron implements for farmers, castings for furniture factories, and

ornamental iron pieces.

Today Kohler manufactures and markets bath and kitchen products,

engines and power generation systems, furniture and accessories,

and decorative tile. Additionally, Kohler developed and operates two golf and

recreation luxury resorts.
