Shogun Stool

You can use various types of wood for this project manufacture. We recommend purchasing some wood with a nice, interesting texture like ash, beech, cedar, birch, cherry, maple, oak, walnut, etc. If you are planning to paint Shogun Chair by yourself, the texture of wood is not important. Make all the items precisely by the measurements given on particular 2D drawings. The measurements are given in millimeters, and the measurements in inches are given in brakes (1 inch = 25, 4 mm).

Assemblage Instructions 1. Join the Legs (item 4), Crossbar (item 6) and Legs Mirror (item 7) with glue, using Pins D6x30mm (item 8).

Make the two of these subassemblies.

2. Fasten one Circle Plank A (item 1), two Circle Planks B (item 2) and two Circle Planks C (item 3) in the woodworking vise and then drill the holes by following the 2D documentation.




3. Put the centers into the holes on the Circle Plank B (item 2) and mark the holes on Circle Plank A (item 1) with it.



Project: Shogun Stool of 16 4. Fasten the Circle Plank A (item 1), Circle Planks B (item 2) and The Circle Planks C (item 3) into the woodworking vise and, by following the instruction given in 2D documentation, mark and then make mortises using subassemblies made in step 1. The Legs (item 4) and Legs Mirror (item 7) should fit in the mortises.

5. Push one by one subassembly made in step 1 into mortise on the Circle Plank B (item 2). Mark and drill the holes on Legs (item 4) and Legs Mirror (item 7).




6. And now the final step of this project. Before this step, you should check if you drilled all the holes properly, does mortises matches, and above all, is it possible to put this project together. Because when you apply the glue on items, you will have to work quickly, so it would not „dry out“ before you finish with the assemblage of all items. Fasten the Circle Plank A (item 1), Circle Planks B (item 2) and the Circle Planks C (item 3) into the woodworking vise. Do not forget, to put the glue between the items.

Push the subassemblies made in step 1 into mortises on both Circle Planks B (item 2).



Project: Shogun Stool of 16 Apply the small amount of glue on the Axles (item 5) and tamp them down by hammer into the holes on the subassembly made in the previous step.

At the end, attach the Circle Plank A (item 1) using glue.
