In many siddurim, (Artscroll page 176) at the conclusion of Shacharis there are 6 mitzvos in the Torah that are introduced with the command to remember, and many recite all 6 daily. The 2 in our parsha are 1. zechiras Miriam and 2. zechiras Amalek. When it comes to the latter, we make a big fuss on the Shabbos before Purim: Tell everybody to listen to the brachos and the text. When it comes to zechiras Miriam, there is no announcement, since the Magen Avraham says it would be a degradation to the tzadekes to make a fuss. Those in the know should keep in mind to be yotze zechiras Miriam. What exactly is it? The simple meaning as understood by Rashi (24:9) is to remember the transgression of lashon hara, that she spoke about Moshe. The Rav zt"l thought the deeper meaning is to instill the belief in the uniqueness of the prophecy of Moshe, which Miriam overlooked and in turn led her to speak the lashon hara.
