THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD
40 - 4
Today we celebrate the feast of Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ into heaven. We rejoice and praise God for what we confess on every Sunday in the Creed; “He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father”. On the feast of Ascension, we do celebrate also the entrance of Jesus into his glory. We rejoice on this feast because we count ourselves privileged to be called upon to share in his glory, entrusted with the task of leading others into the kingdom. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Mt.28:19). Let us take special interest in this wonderful invitation of Christ to be the disciples of all nations. It is our responsibility, a privilege giving to us by Christ, to make disciples of all nations and this includes our children and grandchildren.
Fr. Jinto
Holy Name Youth Group This September Holy Name is running a group for youth between the ages of 11 to 18 (grade 6 to 12). The goal of the group is to give youth an experience that builds community, deepens faith, allows them to mature into young adults, and helps them learn about Christ and what Christ is asking of them in their lives. The Pastoral Council, and other interested parishioners, are meeting after mass (11:15 am) on Sunday, June 4th. Youth, parents, and any other parishioners are invited and encouraged to come and discuss the group's purpose and start planning events for the 2017-2018 year. Hope to see you there!!!!
