“I am writing to you as the Head Coach of Bicester Lawn Tennis Club (BLTC). Based on London Road, our facility provides top-quality tennis coaching for all age groups. We help players to keep fit, make new friends and enjoy sport in a relaxed and friendly environment.

BLTC prides itself on being a friendly, welcoming and family-orientated sports club. With the county’s lowest membership fees, professional-standard coaching, three floodlit all-weather courts, private parking and a fully-fitted clubhouse, the club stands alone as Bicester’s leading sports facility.

Alongside performance programmes, summer camps and afterschool clubs, our coaches are highly experi-enced in delivering specialist disability sessions. Since 2014, we have run weekly classes for people in sup-ported living and accessing daytime support across Oxfordshire. These have proved so successful that I was recently nominated for Disability Coach & Disability Venue at the Oxfordshire British Tennis Awards 2017.

As part of our Learning Disability Tennis Programme funded by Oxfordshire County Council, we have been awarded a grant to further expand our disability coaching provision. As such, we are offering people with a disability who are 16yrs or older, who may at school, college, supported living or accessing day-time support from your organisation from across the Oxfordshire a first-come, first-served opportunity to sign up to free sessions.

The free four-week programme can be flexible to fit around your weekly schedule (we can set up the free sessions for as soon as required), the classes will be fully-funded and all equipment will be provided. Ses-sions will be delivered by Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) qualified tennis coaches, who are DBS-checked and first aid trained.

To register your interest, please contact me via the details below.

I look forward to hearing back from you!

Kind regards, Bianca

Taster Session Equine Assisted Learning

Wondering what to do for the Easter bank holiday?

Why not visit Equilore for a totally new experience. Animal as-

sisted therapy has known benefits for those who struggle to ex-

press their thoughts. Horses are intelligent, sensitive beings and

live in the moment. They offer us patience and forgiveness and

another chance when we get it wrong. Lessons learned with

horses are real experiences that can rewire our minds to new

possibilities. A lesson learned experientially can more easily be

transferred to human to human situations creating a lasting and

positive change for the client. During this 90-minute taster ses-

sion you will work with the horses from the ground and explore

any feelings, emotions or goals you would like. Open to anyone

over the age of 7. The sessions will be run by Chartered Psy-

chologist Dr Loes Koorenhof. To book please contact Loes or

Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group Oxfordshire’s Health and Care Services - The Big Consultation

You've been invited to participate in Oxfordshire’s health and care services

- The Big Consultation by Oxfordshire CCG

The NHS has reflected on the experience of running Phase 1 of the Oxfordshire Transfor-

mation Programme. We understand that we need to learn from the experience and ap-

proach the improvement of local services in a very different manner.

Alongside this, a recent Care Quality Commission Local System Review has emphasised

the need for much better health and social care planning together and the need for an

overarching vision and strategy for health and care in Oxfordshire.

We understand that the best service improvements are those where patients, the wider

public and key stakeholders (including local authorities, the voluntary sector and our so-

cial care partners) work together to co-design services based upon the health and care

needs of the local population. We need to break down organisational barriers and work in

a much more integrated way to improve care for residents and patients in Oxfordshire.

We therefore recognise the need to progress with the next phase in a very different way.

We need to listen to local people and understand better at local level how to work in a

more integrated way to improve care for residents and patients in Oxfordshire.

Going forward, system leaders will bring together our individual organisations strategies to

ensure we have one over-arching strategy, owned by the Health and Wellbeing Board.

Over the next few weeks we will describe how we plan to work with the public and other

stakeholders in looking at the population’s health and care needs in order to develop to-

gether a health and social care system that is fit for the future.

Grants and funding opportunities

SUNDAY 29 April 2017 Blenheim Palace, Woodstock Events start at 10.30am

The event provides an opportunity for smaller charities and community groups who wouldn’t organise an event on this scale to fundraise.

For more entry and more details please go to the website www.blenheim7k.co.uk or email [email protected] if you would like to discuss fundraising or bringing a team. https://i.emlfiles4.com/cmpdoc/2/0/8/8/7/files/482154_fundraising-opportunties-at-blenheim7k-2018.pdf?dm_i=1OSY,5EU08,OP064L,KY12Z,1

Charities are invited to bring teams to fundraise at the Blenheim Fun Run

For 60 years the Trustees of the Garfield Weston Foundation have supported local charities across the UK. To celebrate the Foundation’s anniversary and the vital role of volunteers and com-munity charities, we are excited to launch an additional grants scheme that will be open to applications from 5th January to 30th June 2018 exclusively – the Weston Anniversary Fund (https://anniversary.garfieldweston.org/weston-anniversary-fund/) .

This is a Capital grants scheme and applying is a simple one-step process. Please read about the fund, its application guidelines and take a quick quiz to find out if you are eligible to apply. And if you are, good luck!

If this fund doesn’t fit your particular charity or project, then you may want to consider ap-plying to our ongoing, regular grants scheme at https://garfieldweston.org/apply-to-us/grant-guidelines/.

Oxfordshire Community Foundation (OCF) provides a

variety of grant programmes that help community

groups and charities in Oxfordshire improve people’s

lives. Operating three grant programmes, they enable

groups & charities to decide which programme is most

suitable for them. Details are available on https://

Grants and funding opportunities

Disability Access Fund—for 3 & 4 year olds in receipt of Early Education Funding & DLA

To be eligible for DAF, the child must be 3 or 4 years old, not in reception class, getting Disability Liv-ing Allowance and receiving early education (children whose siblings attract DLA but don’t them-selves would not be eligible). The DAF funding is a non-transferable lump sum payment of £615 per year and the parent must nominate which provider will receive the funding.

The provider will then need to send a completed application form (rft format, 123Kb) signed by a

parent and a copy of the Disability Living Allowance award letter to Oxfordshire County Council

at [email protected].

SEN Inclusion Fund—for 3 & 4 year olds in receipt of Early Education Funding & with emerging SEN (no DLA)

SEN Inclusion Fund

The SEN Inclusion Fund is available to 3 & 4 year olds with low level, emerging SEN needs who are in receipt of Early Education Funding and not yet in reception class. For those attending a nursery school or class in a school, these funds can be requested through their termly census. For those attending any other setting, an application can be submitted submitted to the EYSEN team via [email protected]. If the application is agreed settings can claim the fund on a termly basis from the Early Education Team ([email protected]). This fund is not aimed at children who have higher or more complex needs such as those who might be in receipt of Disability Living Allowance as additional funding is available for settings seeking to support these children (https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/cms/content/guidance-and-procedures-support-providers) nor those who have an Education Health Care Plan.
