Leigh and Eric Gibson represent Brother Harmony at its finest. The reigning IBMA Entertainers of the Year will take the audience on a journey through some of the greatest brother harmony songs from the 20th century, including songs from The Monroe Brothers, The Louvin Brothers, the Everly Brothers, and The Delmore Brothers, to name a few. The audience will have the chance to relive some of these familiar duets by what is probably the only act today that could pull this off.

HistoryFrom its early roots on the farms of rural America and in the modest homeplaces of Appalachia, brother harmony has long had a promi-nent place in American Music. Brother harmony has long been a staple of Bluegrass and Old-Time Country music–within these genres it is both revered and almost assumed commonplace–but it is possibly the most influential style of harmony singing in the history of music. The popularity of this type of singing is often credited to the fact that the harmony is so close that it seems like one voice, and it’s difficult to determine where one brother starts and the other begins. From the early field recordings of unsung Appalachian families to the burgeoning recording careers of brother acts like Bill and Charlie Monroe, the sounds of brothers singing together with their genetically similar vocal tones have long attracted music lovers and influenced generations of singers including the Beatles and Buck Owens.
