This is a good chance to promote our new and highly mobile grease pump; it’s relatively unique to this market. While at the fair, we’ve met with some potential distributors from Malaysia, Eastern Europe and Western Asia who expressed interest in our products. I am very happy with the results.

Optimistic outlook for the Malaysian market

The response is incredibly good. We have a good exposure to local and international workshops which are our target customers. Malaysia is a relatively small country but still got a great potential as the government encourages to upgrade workshop equipment.

Exhibitor - Mr Clemens Wong, General Manager, PAC Auto Marketing Sdn Bhd, Malaysia

From the show and the events, we found that the technology level of the automotive industry here in Malaysia is much more developed compared to other Asian countries.

Visitor - Mr Damon Chang, Dorman Products, USA

Collision Repair Training WorkshopThe first Collision Repair Training Workshop took place at Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2017. Organised by I-CAR, it provided attendees with knowledge, skills and safety concepts of the current and future collision repair.

Fringe programme highlights

From the technicians’ point of view, it is important to learn what’s new in technology, different measurements and see the equipment as collision repair is a global issue and it keeps changing. This is also one of the channels to raise the recognition of mechanics and technicians around the world.

Speaker - Mr Mark Czvitkovits, CEO, I-CAR Australia

Autotronics Workshop for Working MechanicsThe Workshop was designed to have participants learn to diagnose and correct most common auto electronics related faults and systems through actual case studies of car models such as Proton, Perodua, Toyota, Honda and Nissan.

EMMA Malaysia FinalTo promote the use of smart technology in automobile audio systems, the EMMA Malaysia Final was held for the first time at the fair. This audio and tuning competition is highly recognised in the world and organised in Malaysia by one of the supporters, Auto Audio, Accessories and Air-Condition Traders Association of Malaysia (AAA).

Other fringe programmes include:- Auto Audio, Accessories and Air-condition Traders Association of Malaysia (AAA) Annual General Meeting- MAI Industry Professional Certification (IPC) Skills Demonstration- Malaysia Automotive Recyclers Association (MAARA) Annual General Meeting- AMKL Mechanics Challenge- Networking Happy Hour- The Federation of Engineering and Motor Parts Traders’ Association Malaysia (FEMPTAM) Committee Meeting

The knowledge I’ve learned from the workshop is very beneficial. There are not many high quality workshops like this one in our country. It focused on the repair of common vehicles in Malaysia. I met many technical issues, which were covered in the seminar. Now I know they could be very easily identified and fixed.

Attendee - Mr Low Pai Khoon, Technician, Eng Sin Pencelup Tayar, Malaysia

I want to thank the organisers of Automechanika Kuala Lumpur to provide a platform for us to show our skills. During the competition, we learned how to work as a team and to complete all the tasks and assignments within the time given. I‘m proud of my team because we gave our best until the final round.

AMKL Mechanics Challenge Champion - Mr Alex Tiu, Business Development Manager, Newera, Malaysia
