On February 26, 2014, the February edition of the Service Roundtable will be released. This program will be approximately 60 minutes long and will address Service Technicians, Service Managers, Service Advisors, and Shop Foremen. Because of the VOD format, the show may be viewed at any time.
The Service Roundtable will be divided into the following parts:

Situation • F15
• After disabling a missing or broken key with ISTA, all Comfort Access functions inoperative

Cause • BDC (Body Domain Controller) software
issue
• Disabling a key with ISTA removes all Comfort Access functions from all keys, including Comfort Start

Field • If the key being replaced is defective (not
lost or stolen), do not disable the defective key with ISTA
• If the key being replaced is lost or stolen, replace the BDC with new keys
• This issue will be resolved in July 2014

Situation• F34 (3 Series Gran Turismo)
• Produced from March 1, 2013 to January 15, 2014
• Rear PDC center sensors erroneously show obstacles detected
Cause• Software issue in PDC control unit

Field• Do not replace any parts• Duplicate the issue• Perform a vehicle test and complete all test
plans for fault codes relating to PDC• Submit a PuMA case for further assistance
• Subject – Rear PDC erroneously detects obstacles

• Vehicle showed up as “not paid” in the Q4 2013 statement, sent out on February 3

Cause• The most common root causes:
– ISPA Light accidently used instead of Battery Care Application
– Demos and loaners mistakenly not considered part of the program
– “Save” button was not pressed when doing the key data check in the Battery Care Application

Field• Perform a battery check when the in-
service date is added to the RDR System• Use Battery Care Application in ASAP
Portal• Press "Save" button to execute payment• If button is not displayed it is because the
data is out of date• Update key data
• Current key data helps determine state of battery at time of delivery

• In order to receive 2 FRU for the car, the technician must perform another check with the Battery Care Application

Situation • F01, F02, F10, F12, F13, F25, F30 with
CIS Passenger side occupancy mat• Airbag Warning Light Illuminated (light
may or may not be on when the customer brings the car in)
• ACSM fault 930A60 “Seat occupancy detection, front passenger: Malfunction”

Cause • This fault is set when the capacitive mat
senses high moisture.• If other faults are stored they must also be
considered and diagnosed
Situation 1: Customer states warning light came on but car arrives at shop with no warning lights. FC 930A60 is not currently present.
Fault data. Following fault data are stored for the checked function / component group.930A60: Passenger seat occupancy detector MalfunctionSelect fault code and continue procedure.
There was a temporary malfunction in the front passenger's seat occupancy detection system. This is probably attributed to high moisture levels. This fault is currently not active and can be deleted. Do not replace the seat occupancy detection.
