Letter of Motivation
I have recently completed my double major degree at the University of
Monash South Africa by completing my bachelor of Social Sciences
and Public Relations. My passion lies within the practice of public
relations as I am able to think outside of the box in order to
conceptualize creative yet effective strategic campaigns. I, like most
millennials dream of leading a successful life not only in the financial
scheme of things, but also in the emotional sphere where I dream of
doing a job which works as much for me as I do for it.
In my last semester of university I decided to begin doing freelance
work with social media marketing and management as well as public
relations for the clients I currently work with. The reason for my
applying for your job is that I would love to gain some corporate
experience as I feel that is where my true passion for public relations
lies.
I would absolutely appreciate the opportunity to work for your
organization as I have the passion, the skills and the love for
communicating effectively with individuals both inside and outside of
the organization.
I appreciate your time and consideration.
Kind regards
Sian Lindeque

To whom it may concern
Reference letter: Sian Lindeque (Monash SA student no 25482467) I have known Sian Lindeque for three years as her lecturer in certain subjects related to Communication and Public Relations. Throughout these three years, she has made an impression on me as an intelligent and exceptionally diligent student who is able to effectively and respectfully interact with lecturers and fellow students.
During the past semester, I was her lecturer for Consulting, a challenging and practical subject in which students had to form a five-person consultancy, draw up a proposal for a communication campaign, and present their proposal to the client. Sian was part of The Firm, a consultancy that competed with five others for the client account. Their proposal won the account, and the client and I were impressed by their presentation of it.
I recommend Sian for any further studies or employment in her fields of specialisation. It has
been a pleasure to teach her.
Kind regards
Ms Marianne Louw
Charles Villet Lecturer and Head of Section: Philosophy 9 November 2016 Subject: Recommendation for Ms. Sian Lindeque (Student number: 25482467) To whom it may concern:
Herewith I would like to recommend Ms. Lindeque’s academic abilities. My recommendation
is based on my experience of her academic work, which is of high quality. Ms. Lindeque was
enrolled for a number of Philosophy courses at Monash South Africa presented by myself in
2014 and 2015. She performed well in light of some challenging course material and
received three distinctions, one in each of her courses with me. Ms. Lindeque was without a doubt one of the brightest minds in my classes. She frequently
engaged in debate in class and her contributions were insightful and of great value to fellow
students and myself. In this respect she revealed a critical and inquisitive eye with regards
to the course content and her argumentative skills also revealed much insight. These skills
were also reflected in her execution of the course assessments, which were of a high
standard. I therefore recommend Ms. Lindeque’s academic abilities and hope that you will kindly take
this recommendation into consideration for her application. Please contact me in this regard
if you have any enquiries. Best wishes,
Charles Villet
