ALTERNATOR ALERT ,This warning light (5) comes on along with an audible alarm to alert the operator

that the battery is not charging. 1/ this light should come on d uring operation or

remain on alter initial start-up have the charging system checked as soon as

possible by an;authorized Komatsu Dealer.

AIR CLEANER RESTRICTION ALERT

This warning light (9) comes on when the engine air filter is restricted. If this

indicator comes on during operation, shut the machine down and have the air

filter system serviced. Do not operate the machine with a restricted air filtering

system; damage to the engine may result.

GLOW PLUGS PREHEAT INDICATION

In cold weather during initial start-up there is a need to preheat the combustion

air to aid in starting the engine. To use this feature, hold the Ignition switch in

the prcheut position lor approximately 30 seconds, the indicator light (6) will

come on and remain on for about 30 seconds, after the light goes out the engine

may be cranked. This procedure may have to be repeated one more time.

Duo to the glow plug feature equipped with this machine, do not

use Ether or other starting aids. Damage to the engine or

possible injury to the operator may result

ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE ALERT

This warning light (7) comes on along with an audible alarm to alert the operator

of an engine overheat condition. If this warning and alarm should come on,

immediately stop the machine and select neutral gear. Lei the engine runs at

about 1200 RPM until the warning and alarm stop. If this condition should occur

again, check to make sure the radiator fins arc clean and free of debris. Do not

continue to operate the machine if the engine is overheating.

ENGINE OIL PRESSURE ALERT

This warning lamp (8) comes on along with an audible alarm to alert the operator

of an engine oil pressure loss. If this light should come on during operation or

remain on after start-up, shut the engine down immediately. If this light does not

come on when the ignition key is turned on. Have the system checked by your

Komatsu dealer. Do not

operate the machine If their light cornel on when the ignition key is immediately

Damage to the engine may result.

ROTATING BEACON LAMP (IF EQUIPPED)

This light (16) comes on when the revolving light is operated by means of the

switch positioned on the upper right side of the cab

AUDIBLE WARNING SYSTEM

When the ignition switch is on or the machine is in operation this audible alarm

(10) will sound if:

The engine oil pressure is low The engine is overheating The

transmission is overheating

Faulty alternator

Incorrect position of seat while machine is moving The charging system

has failed

JOYSTICK LOCK SWITCH

When travelling on roads, always engage the joystick locking device. This switch

(11) inhibits the joystick controls, it is used when the machine travels on roads and

as safety lock when leaving the drivers seat or parking the machine. To lock the

joystick controls, press switch (11) ON (switch illuminated). Press the switch again

OFF to release the controls.

Whenever the machine i s started, the controls are locked automatically

ON (switch illuminated). pp::.s the switch Off id use the control*.

l or safety r easons, the joystick controls are locked automatically (LED

on) (switch illuminated) when the seat is rotated by the operator to

change driving position. The joystick controls arc automatically released

OFF when the rotation has been completed and the scat is in a fixed

driving position (front or rear).In the version with backhoe joystick controls, this button serves to lockthe backhoe controls, too.
