2. Hydrometer Test, sieve analysis for the soil finer than 0.075 mm (sieve No.200)

• Some grain size will vary through the fluid at different rates according to the large granulated

• Tools hydrometer will sink deeper into the suspension solution when the density decreases

Some identification can be obtained from grain size curves, there are :1. Percentage of specific grain size2. Percentage total is greater or smaller than a certain particle

size3. Uniformity or range in the grain size distribution

In the graph, an indication of aggregate grading is shown by the coefficient of uniformity (Cu) and coefficient of gradation (Cc). Expressed by the equation:

Conclution :Example for No.40 for sieve grain weight,= total weight – grain weight restrained= 119,33 – (0,00 + 18,11 + 24,30 + 21,44 )= 55,48 grPercentage of sieve on filter No.40,= (55,48/119,33)x 100% = 46,49 %Results count plotted on the graph, so that it can be result:D10 = 0,04 mm, D30 = 0,190 mm & D60 = 0,72 mm
