BLUE MOSQUE

The Sultan Ahmed Mosque

(Turkish: Sultan Ahmet Camii)

It is a historic mosque inIstanbul.

The mosque is popularly known as the Blue Mosquefor the blue tiles adorning the walls of its interior.

HAGIA SOPHIA

It was used as a church for 916 years but, following the conquest of Istanbul by Fatih Sultan Mehmed, the HagiaSophia was converted into mosque. Afterwards, it was used as a mosque for 482 years. Under the order of Atatürk and the decision of the Council of Ministers, Hagia Sophia was converted into a museum in 1935.

MAIDEN TOWER

The Maiden's Tower

(Turkish: Kız Kulesi),

It is also known as Leander's Tower (Tower of Leandros) since the medieval Byzantineperiod, is a tower lying on a small islet located at the southern entrance of the Bosphorous strait 200 m (220 yd) from the coast ofÜsküdar in Istanbul.

GALATA TOWER

The GalataTower (GalataKulesi in Turkish) —called ChristeaTurris (the Tower of Christ in Latin) by the Genoese — is a medieval stone tower in the Galata/Karaköy quarter of Istanbul, just to the north of the GoldenHorn's junction with the Bosphorus. One of the city's most striking landmarks, it is a high, cone-capped cylinder that dominates the skyline and offers a panoramic vista of Istanbul's historicpeninsula and its environs.

MOUNT NEMRUT

Nemrut or Nemrud(Turkish: NemrutDağı ;

It is a 2,134 m (7,001 ft) high mountain in southeastern Turkey, notable for the summit where a number of large statues are erected around what is assumed to be a royal tomb from the 1st century BC. It is referred as the pantheon of the Armenian gods.

PAMUKKALE

Pamukkale, meaning "cotton castle" in Turkish, is a natural site in Denizli Province in southwestern Turkey. The city contains hot springs and travertines, terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water. It is located in Turkey's Inner Aegean region, in the River Menderes valley, which has a temperate climate for most of the year.

TROY

Troy is a city well-known to both history and legend (as well as archaeology), and was situated in northwest Anatolia in what is now Turkey (but which was known in Classical sources as Asia Minor), located south of the southwest end of theDardanelles. It is best known for being the setting of the Trojan Wardescribed in the Greek Epic Cycle and especially in the Iliad, one of the two epic poems attributed to Homer.

Zeugma is an ancient city of Commagene; located in modern Gaziantep Province, Turkey.

It is a historical settlement which is considered among the four most important settlement areas under the reign of the kingdom of Commagene.

It was named for the bridge of boats, or zeugma,whichcrossed the Euphrates river there.
