The purpose of joining an MPMA group is to post a need, an available resource, or to track posts made by other members.

When you decide to join a group, you will be directed to a new page – there is one for each of the MPMA groups:

Resource Exchange Group and Equipment Group.

Step 2 Once you are signed in, you will see a page like this – it is your profile page. In the top menu bar, click on the

word Members on the far right menu line and wait for the dropdown menu to appear. Click on either Equipment Group or Resource Exchange Group and you will be directed to that specific

Community Group page.

STEP 3 Once on the Community Groups page, click on the sub group you want to join – these are located on the gray bars, with the blue lettering. For this example, we’re using Engineering|Design Labor. You will be directed to a new page – for the group you have selected. Click on Join Group. You are now a member of this group. TIP: You will have to repeat this process for each group you want to join. Click on the back arrow on your browser to get back to the main group page. Click on the word Forums on the right side of the description of the group to create a post. TIP: If you want to leave the group, click on the “Options” button to get that option.

STEP 4 On the Forums page, click on the words General Discussion. On the General Discussion page, click on the words, New Topic. On the New Topic page: Fill out the Subject line and fill out the information in the Editor box. TIP: Descriptions should be straightforward and factual, without any “marketing” jargon. Describe what you need, or what you are selling (depending on the Group you have selected). Your contact information from your Profile will automatically appear with the post, but if you want inquiries to come to you in a different manner, you’ll need to add that to your post. There is also an option to add a picture or video. When you are finished, click Submit Post by clicking on the blue button at the very bottom of the page.

You will see the Subject Line at the top, with a description of what you posted below, which includes your name (from your MPMA personal profile), or the name of your company (from your MPMA company profile). There is an option to Edit what you have posted. REPLYING TO A POST While viewing a topic that you have posted, or another member has posted, enter your response in the Quick Reply section. Click Submit Quick Reply to enter the reply. Tip: Use Reply Using Full Editor if you need to add attachments or formatting to your text. THREAD ACTIONS In the Thread Actions box, click on the downward arrow to the left of the words to view the dropdown menu. This is where you can set further preferences for each group.

FINDING YOUR GROUPS Go back to your Profile – by clicking on the MPMA logo at the top of the page you are on. The words, “My Profile,” can be found in the blue menu bar at the top of the page. Once back on your Profile page, you will see the Groups that you have joined. Click on the names of the Sub Groups you have joined to view other posts, respond to another member’s post, or to post another Forum.
