Somebody told me
Love makes a man fearless
But I didn't believe
Because I had no experience
Somebody told me
Unity is the strongest strength
But I didn't believe
Because I had no experience
Nobody told me
Fire is hot
But I do believe
Because I have experience.

The atrocities on women are getting increased day by day. The heinous crime of rape happens every where : in homes, in neighborhood, in towns, in cities, in villages.
The national crime records bureau reported that the growth rates of crimes against women is higher than the population growth rate. Half of the number of crimes against women reported is related to molestation and sexual harassment. The map of India is dotted with the crimes against women, ranging from the Madura rape case in 1972 to the gang rape of 23 year old paramedical student on a bus at the streets of Delhi. A rape occurs every 20 minutes. The truth is that only 5% of rapes are reported. A child is raped every 76minutes and the crime against women continues from killing them in this mothers womb to punishing women for giving birth to a girl child.
THE NEED OF THE HOUR
Sexual crime victimization is a state of crisis and a major stress in one's life. It is hard to restore a sense of balance in the victims life.
They become depressed and feel isolated in life. The perpetrators of such crimes must definitely be punished, but the solution does not lie in death penalty. nor does the solution lie in increasing police surveillance. The diseased system must be changed. Violence against women is a product of diseased system where people are conditioned to see women as inferior and mere commodities. Sexual harassment is a symptom of gender inequality. This is a period where women is coming forward in every fields. But still there are many behind the curtain. So the need of the hour is nothing else but to resist sexual violence, rage against rape and fight for gender equality.

Walking along the boulevard of broken dreams
Once met, a women- unfree.
Cursed and dwelted by the rest
Then and three I met her first
Once for again I met her next
Stamped and ragged by the rest
They took her tongue off her life
Tears and wraths still left behind.
Then and there, I save her again
Fallen and cold was she this once
No churches rung their bells for her
No god gave a hand for she
Time passed us gently by, and I
Save her this once for the last
Tied and crushed inside a grave
Torn and killed by a few.
I closed my eyes for a tear to drop
Opened them to see what I saw
All around me, they were in number,
Dead and alive, the women – un free .
Walking along the boulevard of broken dreams
I still, meet the women un free
Cursed and dwelted by the rest
Then and there I meet them still.
