#7: Orlando Loch Haven Park900 E. Princeton St.Over 200 years old, “The Mayor,” is a Live Oak that has survived despite limb breaks in 2008 and 1998.
#6: Harry P. Leu Gardens1920 N. Forest Ave.A 50-acre botanical oasis, Leu Gardens features an allee of huge Camphor trees. Native to China and Japan, Camphor trees were introduced into Florida in 1875 and are able to displace native trees and plants.
#5: Big Tree Park 930 N. Thornton Ave.Likely between 350 and 400 years old, the oldest tree in Orlando is located at Big Tree Park. Live Oaks can live for centuries.
#4: Lake Eola Park195 N Rosalind Ave.Large Live Oak Trees line Lake Eola Park along Central Boulevard. The trees help provide ample shade throughout the City’s most popular park.
#3: Constitution Green Park300 S. Summerlin Ave.The big live oak at Constitution Green Park in Downtown Orlando is probably 125-175 years old. The tree has recumbent branching on one side, with branches touching the ground. There was another tree on the opposite side and as a result, crown adaptation – forcing the growth of branches in other directions – occurred.
#2: Dickson Azalea Park100 Rosearden Dr.Around 100 years old, the Long Leaf Pine trees at Dickson Azalea Park are extremely tall because they need to be taller than the Oak trees alongside the ravine in which they grow.
#1: Mayor Carl T. Langford Park1808 E. Central Blvd.A natural refuge near Downtown Orlando, Mayor Carl T. Langford Park is filled with large Shumard Oak, Swamp Chestnut, Laurel and Live Oak trees.
