Fabric Requirements Yardage Cutting Directions
Blocks
• Fabric A: DDJ-6131-191 Autumn 2 yds Cut 5 strips 6-7/8” x WOF and subcut into (24) 6-7/8” squares
Cut each square in half diagonally for 48 triangles
• Fabric B: DDJ-6128-191 Autumn 1 yd Cut 3 strips 6-7/8” x WOF and subcut into (12) 6-7/8” squares
Cut each square in half diagonally for 24 triangles
• Fabric C: DDJ-6129-191 Autumn 1 yd Cut 3 strips 6-7/8” x WOF and subcut into (12) 6-7/8” squares
Cut each square in half diagonally for 24 triangles
• Fabric D: DDJ-6130-191 Autumn 1/8 yd Cut 2 strips 1-1/2” x WOF and subcut into (36) 1-1/2” squares
Borders
• Inner Border: DDJ-6130-191 Autumn ½ yd Cut 4 strips 2-1/2” x WOF and piece, where necessary, to fit:
� 2 strips 2-1/2” x 40” for the top and bottom inner border
� 2 strips 2-1/2” x 48” for the left and right sides inner border
• Outer Border: DDJ-6129-191 Autumn 1 yd Cut 6 strips 5-1/2” x WOF and piece, where necessary, to fit:
� 3 strips 5-1/2” x 50” for the top and bottom outer border
� 3 strips 5-1/2” x 52” for the left and right sides outer border
Binding and Backing
� DDJ-6131-191 Autumn 5 yds Cut 6 strips 2-1/2” x WOF for the binding
Assembly � Make (24) Half Square Triangles using the 6-7/8” triangles from Fabric A and Fabric B
Place right sides together and sew on the long diagonal being careful not to stretch the fabric
� Make (24) Half Square Triangles using the 6-7/8” triangles from Fabric A and Fabric C
Place right sides together and sew on the long diagonal being careful not to stretch the fabric
� Quick Angled Corner: Place a 1-1/2” Fabric D square on one corner of each of the above Half Square Triangles, right sides together. Sew
along the diagonal and trim excess fabric to ¼”, press toward the outside
� Sew a “A/C” Half Square Triangle to the left of a “A/B” Half Square Triangle, matching the Fabric D Quick Angled Corners
Sew a “A/B” Half Square Triangle to the left of a “A/C” Half Square Triangle, matching the Fabric D Quick Angled Corners
Sew the above two units together, matching all 4 Fabric D Quick Angled Corners for a 12-1/2” block
� Lay the blocks on your design wall or floor in rows of 3 across and 4 down
o Row 1 / Block 1: Sew a Quick Angled Corner, following the instructions above, on the lower right corner
o Row 1 / Block 2: Sew a Quick Angled Corner, following the instructions above, on the lower left and right corners
o Row 1 / Block 3: Sew a Quick Angled Corner, following the instructions above, on the lower left corner
o Row 2 and 3 / Block 1: Sew a Quick Angled Corner, following the instructions above, on the upper and lower right corners
o Row 2 and 3 / Block 2: Sew a Quick Angled Corner, following the instructions above, on each of the four corners
o Row 2 and 3 / Block 3: Sew a Quick Angled Corner, following the instructions above, on the upper and lower left corners
o Row 4 / Block 1: Sew a Quick Angled Corner, following the instructions above, on the upper right corner
o Row 4 / Block 2: Sew a Quick Angled Corner, following the instructions above, on the upper left and right corners
o Row 4 / Block 3: Sew a Quick Angled Corner, following the instructions above, on the upper left corner
� Assemble the top by sewing the blocks in rows 3 across and 4 down
Borders Measure across the center of the quilt both vertically and horizontally; adjust border strip lengths if needed
Sew the (2) 2-1/2” x 40” inner border strips to the top and bottom of the quilt
Sew the (2) 2-1/2” x 48” inner border strips to the left and right sides of the quilt
Sew the 5-1/2” x 50” outer border strips to the top and bottom of the quilt
Sew the 5-1/2” x 52” outer border strips to the left and right sides of the quilt
Layer, quilt and bind as desired.
