What makes Silfra and our snorkeling guides so special?

Drysuit or wetsuit? -It's your choice!

Snorkeling Iceland offers two types of high quality snorkeling gear, which provides you with the opportunity to choose the one that suits your specific needs. Wearing a Drysuit:You view Silfra from the surface while the slow current carries you through stunning underwater landscape. You stay dry underneath the drysuit, though at times some water may get through the neck seal or wrist seals. Wearing a Wetsuit:You have more freedom in terms of movements and are able to freedive by holding your breath. The wetsuits we use are 6 mm in thickness and isolate the body well from the cold water. However, when wearing a wetsuit, water always gets underneath the suit, which slowly warms up. You'll need to bring a bathing suit to wear underneath the wetsuit.

Snorkeling between the continents

Snorkeling in Silfra rift is definitely an out of this world adventure and a hidden natural wonder, where the 100m underwater visibility and bright colors make the experience almost unrealistic. The pristine water in Silfra is one of the purest and clearest water you’ll find on the planet. We divided Silfra fissure into three sections and we will guide you to them all: Silfra hall, Silfra cathedral and Silfra lagoon or "the real blue lagoon" referred to the bright blue color of the water. After around 30-40 minutes of snorkeling in Silfra we walk back with a short stop by a cliff where you have the option to jump straight down, 4 m. into Silfra, an experience you will never forget. Snorkeling in Silfra rift where you are guided into this magnificent scenery is a total "MUST SEE" for all nature and adventure thirsty individuals and groups.

Prerequisites:

Clothes suited to wear under a dry suit (long underwear, thick socks) or swimwear if you choose wet suit and towel.

Be able to swim, be at least 155cm and 55kg and 16 years of age.
