Silly Scenario # 1
O Protagonist: Lucy Israel—chubby (not fat), brown hair, 14 years old. Likes Tarot Cards and candy.
O Genre: Magical Realism
O Setting: Metropolitan America; upper-middle class urban neighborhood. Hamptons, Beverly Hills, etc…
O Antagonist: An old grey-haired man (70 years old). He is selfish and a pervert. He hates children and loves causing misery for others.
O Conflict: Both the antagonist and protagonist are trying out for the same position as lead in the school play because they are each secretly in love with the drama teacher.
O Resolution: A bird dropped magic cookies and everyone ate them and peace settled upon the land.
Silly Scenario # 2
O Protagonist: Older lady who works at Dunkin Donuts, 55 years old, from the Valley, Widow, has one child still at home, desires to be a contestant on Jeopardy.
O Genre: Biblical Fantasy
O Setting: Beijing, China. It is the year 2015. China has become the most powerful country in the world.
O Antagonist: The angry shopkeeper, Mr. Haring, who is on the city council.
O Conflict: The Antagonist wants to tie the protagonist to a railroad track, but the protagonist is not being cooperative.
O Resolution: Everyone dies except the milkman.
Silly Scenario # 3
O Protagonist: Jessica Marie Waller, age 16, works as a babysitter for neighborhood kids, does not have a boyfriend, is good at art, has trouble with math and does not easily make friends. She is very shy, very short, and has glasses.
O Genre: Space-Western
O Setting: Dunkin Donuts in a South Carolina city during the winder before Election Day.
O Antagonist: A middle-school aged orphan with unconventional super powers that terrorizes the 7th
grade.
O Conflict: An island has been discovered near the coast of South America. On this island, dinosaurs still live. People have been summoned to capture the creatures.
O Resolution: And then I died, crushed beneath the very elephant we tried so hard to tame.
Silly Scenario # 4
O Protagonist: Billy, a troubled teenager who is having trouble fitting in at school. He likes to draw and practice karate. He also likes pranking others unexpectedly (the source of his problems).
O Genre: Coming-of-age story—realistic
O Setting: Karate class/studio shared with ballet, gymnastics, dance, and yoga classes.
O Antagonist: Mechanic fixing the car is used to cheating everyone.
O Conflict: The couch won’t fit around the turn in the stairs on move-in day.
O Resolution: Protagonist dies and the antagonist becomes filthy rich.
