Volunteer of the Month Heidi Sanchez is our January volunteer of the

month. Heidi has been volunteering with us for a year and half. She’s been a huge

help with the last two summer galas and is currently coordinating the organization of

SACA’s clothing in our back storage.

Our director, Teresa, says, “Heidi was instrumental in organizing our gala silent auc-

tion baskets. She has a heart of gold and we are blessed to have her as one of our

volunteer rockstars.”

We appreciate Heidi’s willingness to volunteer, as well as her joy and enthusiasm!

Client Success Story A new client came to us after being released from thir-

teen years in prison, offering to be a volunteer. His hard work quickly earned him the

volunteer of the month award. We helped him update his resume and provided let-

ters of reference to potential employers. As of today, he has been working for the

same local company for over a year. We are so proud of his achievement and wish

him continued success!

Homeless Care Kits Thank you, Silverton community, for your outstanding

response to our Homeless Care Kits flyer. We have received over 100 care kits

and have been passing them on to our homeless clients as they come in to receive

food and/or services.

Mobile Dental Clinic In November, Medical Teams International mobile dental clinic visited

SACA. A client utilizing this service said, “The dental van is such a blessing! I was in so much

pain. My insurance would not cover the charges and I had no alternative but to suf-

fer. Dr. Kim was able to extract my tooth and the pain diminished. I am so thankful

for the mobile dental clinic and the no-charge dental services. I encourage anyone

needing dental assistance to sign up for the dental van.”

In January, the mobile dental clinic returned to SACA, providing extractions, fillings and exams,

free of charge, to those in need.

Backpack, Sock & Blanket Drive In November we asked our community for back-

packs, socks and blankets for our clients in need. We have been overwhelmed with generous do-

nations! Our clients have been very appreciative to have these needs met, especially with the

freezing temperatures we’ve experienced this winter.

Grant Thank you CenturyLink Family & Work Development Fund for the grant of $7250. Special

thanks to Eric Anderson for the grant nomination!

Food Project Our neighborhood Food Project has been running strong for

the last four years and we would love to have you participate! SACA is looking

for people to volunteer one day, every-other month as a Neighborhood Coordi-

nator.

We provide each participant with a green cloth bag, which can be filled with a

few items at a time after each shopping trip, then tucked away. As a coordinator,

you would simply pick up the bags from your “Neighborhood” on the 2nd Satur-

day every other month (February, April, June, August, October, December) and bring the bags to

SACA between 9am and 11am. When picking up bags, you would also provide empty replace-

ment bags, so your “Neighbor” can begin filling bags when they are ready to shop again.

A “Neighborhood’” doesn’t have to be a group of houses, it can be a groups of friends, your club or

co-workers, etc. If you would like to participate and/or become a coordinator, please contact

SACA. Thank you!

Figaro’s Fundraiser: March 13,

4pm to 8pm - Come buy a pizza and

help support SACA!

Fill the Bus: April 15, 9am to 3pm - Bring

your food donations to the big yellow bus at

Roth’s Fresh Market and help us fill up the

bus with food!

4G Resource Day: April 22— Clothing, hair

cuts, snacks and local resources.

Free event.

Bowling Alley Fundraiser: February 26, at

Noon—Join the fun at Silver Creek Lanes.

Job Fair: March 20, 11am to 2pm- meet

local businesses who are ready to hire.
