In 2013 I was part of a team of 4 who developed an exciting proposal for a new urban quarter in Bedford. The proposal focused on key urban design issues and incorporated residential, office, hotel, cultural and leisure facilities. We worked closely with a local community group pro bono, to explore and evolve a sensitive, sustainable response. As a result of our work on this project we are now one of the groups in residence at Port of Entry, an exciting open studio space for young creatives of all disciplines - www.portofentry.co.uk. CHORA Architecture and Urbanism, London [January 2009 - July 2009] Architectural Assistant Part I.

- Built concept and test models for Tempelhof competition winner- Built concept models, sketch models and presentation models for projects in China, Great Britain and The Netherlands, in a variety of media- Researched and compiled of the Taiwan Strait Atlas, a publication by CHORA, using InDesign- Collaborated in building LED lighting system for 3D printed model, exhibited in the 2009 Energy Exhibition in Xiamen, China

My experience at CHORA culminated with the Berlin Tempelhof competition winner. For this competition, I constructed a large model to test the various phases and scenarios where energy production, technology and open spaces were interweaved with housing and infrastructure.

- Produced design concept for 10,000 m2 affordable housing block, value € 5.893.000- Utilised AutoCAD and SketchUp for the design development and planning drawings of the housing block- Designed soft and hard landscaping for primary school competition- Constructed SketchUp model of primary school as part of the competition

In this well known local practice I was in charge of the design concept and design development for anewmixeduseblockof104affordableflats,commercialunits,undergroundparkingandstoragespaces in a new quarter NW of the city. I based the plan on the geometrical and abstract patterns foundinSouthernSpain,legacyoftheMoorishperiodandreflectedthisinternalgeometryoftheapartments in the design of the façade.

Thispart-timeworkexperiencewasmyfirsttasteofthearchitecturalpracticeworld.I analysed the of the publicly owned space of the Archway Underground broader site. I quickly learned VectorWorks and used it to construct 3D models for the proposal for the Better Archway Improvement Plan.
