SIM group, which is consolidated on worldwide scale, is an Italian private me-

chanical construction company, specialized in fabrication/erection of piping,

structural steel and equipment. Management of all multidisciplinary construction

activities such as electrical, instrumental, tanks supply and erection.

Thanks to the experiences gained in many years of activities combined with in-

novation and special advanced technologies, and to its high level management

and staff, SIM is a Mechanical Contractor able to manage all type of projects in

terms of complexity, assuring the maximum health and safety control, quality

system and safeguarding the environmental aspects associated to work.

SIM is able to take complete responsibility during the period of the projects,

sharing risks and responsibilities that the project requires.

Our strategy is to accomplish extraordinary in our core business by delivering

SIM starts, performs, and completes projects - in the field of O&G, Chemical,

ESSIM has continuously increased its expe-

rience in plants construction by working

on complex projects in Italy and, in par-

ticular, abroad.

Thanks to this experience SIM is today an

important global contractor.

Our objective is to perform our project in

compliance with Client’s requirements

satisfying all safety and quality standards.

SIM is certified by UNI EN ISO 9001: 2008,

Apave, ISO 3834-2, and recently also by

SOA that enables SIM to realize different

type of plants in the field of public work.

Our main activities, carried out by a per-

manent staff of 750 people, are:

Construction activities Our human resources and sub-contractors for special-

ized activities allow us to provide multi-disciplinary con-

struction services for all types of industrial plants:

• Fabrication and assembly of piping systems;

• Erection of steel structures;

• Erection of equipments, rotating and alternative machinery;

• Complementary activities: painting, application of anti-

corrosion coatings, fire-proofing and thermal insulation;

• Assembly and erection of electrical and instrumenta-

tion systems;

• Pre-commissioning and commissioning of plants and

systems.

Maintenance activities Maintenance contracts are a regular step of any com-

pany that installs plants, modernizes them and shuts

them down.

SIM’s know-how is available to operators for mainte-

nance services of industrial plants.

The wide range of our business activities as well as the

experience we have acquired as “general contractor”

allow us to fulfill the most various client’s demands.

• Shut-downs

This is a short-term activity that involves all SIM skills

for the correct development of a considerable volume

of work.

In order to complete this type of work successfully, we

implement and coordinate:

- High-specialized human resources

- Modern equipments resources

- Methods tested using the most powerful tools

• Revamping

The particular experience necessary to develop this

type of activity is realized partly in “Onshore” , partly

in “Offshore” context. The know-how of our staff, the

management and the participation of our sub-contrac-

tors enable SIM to ensure Safety, Quality and Respect of

With two strategically located fabricating facilities, SIM has the logistical advantage to serve the

needs of clients everywhere. Our workshops in the East Coast of Sicily - next to the important

petrochemical area - enable us to produce any pipe fabrication giving us the opportunity to control

costs, schedules and all the related activities so that safety and quality are maximized.

Two fully equipped workshops for piping fabrication are able to produce up to 200 T/month of CS

and SS piping.

Thanks to its location facing the sea, SIM is working to implement its activities performing Com-

plete Modular Systems assembled in accordance with customer requirements: from simple skids

to complex piping modules complete with instruments and controls.

The fabrication of skid in our workshop will optimize all area’s resources in terms of local industries

and the transport by sea.

In this perspective, the company has established

an Environmental Management System in com-

pliance with the UNI EN ISO 14001: 2004.

After an evaluation of the remarkable aspects

emerging from an environmental analysis, the

company undertakes to respect the following

• Compliance with legislation and other environ-

Our mission is to complete every project correct-

ly, efficiently and ACCIDENT FREE. At SIM safety

is more than a company goal, it’s a commitment.

From front office managers to field employees,

safety comes always first.

We have established an effective Safety Program

to prevent potential hazards at any level. This

program is based on regular training seminars,

safety meetings, toolbox talks, site inspections,

and pre-task planning that are mandatory for

SIM employees. This up-to-date training makes

our staff and personnel as knowledgeable as

possible about some of the potential hazards

that can occur within the job site.

SIM is constantly committed to educate its em-

ployees in safety rules/regulations, their safety is

for the company extremely important.

Our safety system is in compliance with the

most important regulations and it’s certified by

VCA for SCC Petrochemicals 2008/05; MASE

(in progress).
