Birth-1783.Simón Bolívar was born on July 24th in Caracas,
Venezuela. His parents were Colonel Juan Vicente Bolívar y Ponte, and Concepción Palacios Blanco. Simón had two older sisters and one brother. There names are María Antonia, Juana and Juan Vincente. Simón had another sister named María del Carmen. who died at birth.

Family Tragedy-1786.Before Simón was three, his father passed away
in January of 1786. His mother followed six years later. Simón was reared by an uncle who exposed him to the enlightment, such as Voltaire and Rousseau. They were inspirations to the French Revolution.

Education-1796.Simon Rodriguez was Simón's tutor. He had to
flee the country when he was accused of conspiring to overthrow Spain's colonial rule. At 16,Bolivar was sent to Spain to complete his education and on the way, his ship stopped in Vera Cruz.

del Toro y Alaysa. She is related to the family of the Marqués del Toro of Caracas, in 1802, but eight months after moving to Venezuela with her husband, succumbed to yellow fever.

Traveling-1805 to 1807.Bolivar found himself with Rodriguez, and they both
traveled to Rome, where they again crossed the paths with Monte Sacro. Monte Sacro is a place associated in Roman history with freedom from oppression. He fell to his knees and, grabbing his teachers hand, he vowed to free his country. He returned from Paris, and sailed to America stopping often along the east coast before arriving home in 1807.

" the first republic was declared July 5. Venezuela became the first colony where in the Spanish empire attempted to break free.

Bolivar Joins the Military-1810April 19th marks the date of the Declaration Of
Independence. The "Junta" formed on the same day. Once Bolivar completed his mission, he returned to London at the end of the same year. In Britain he was able to observe the practical functioning of institutions. Bolivar enters military service, and rising to the rank of colonel he takes a hand in the raid of Valencia in orders of Miranda.

Although, this increased dissatisfaction and anger among his political opponents. There was an assassination attempt on September 25, 1828, but it failed, with the help of his lover, Manuela Saenz.
