CURRENT/LAST EMPLOYMENT

Feb 16 (New Business) – Head of Creative – Our Marketing Guys http://www.ourmarketingguys.co.ukFrom my experience with Uni2 and freelancing as a marketing consultant I found a gap in the market for an agency that provides the best of both worlds. A fully managed service alongside educational opportunities for clients. Starting from scratch I have created a business with high demand and frequent work.

Main achievements:

Being a finalist in several competitions such as Instagram’s Budding Designer competition and Virgin Voom’s start up competition. These have helped build a brand and ‘expert status’.

Developing several brands & marketing campaigns for over 10 clients in less than 6 months. Educating all of my clients in every aspect of marketing and design undertaken. This has enabled the

business to be fully appreciated for all of it work, has empowered clients and brought a lot of WOM business our way.

Being asked to talk at several start-up and business events in order to inspire and encourage other young business people.

Sep 15 (Freelance) ▪ Digital Marketing – Nuttersons www.nuttersons.co.ukThis role is one that is heavily team focused. This role is providing myself with a chance to showcase and further challenge my skills and knowledge. I am responsible (along side the team around me) for creating concepts and transforming these into functioning and popular brands.

Main achievements:

Working on several challenging brands within the health marketing, and getting a strong grasp of a market I was not familiar with at the start.

Creating several online campaigns across a variety of tools such as; Facebook, Twitter, Google Adwords, Hootsuite etc.

Developing a clear and calculated campaign calendar for each brand along side of tone of voice that embodies everything the brands wish to represent.

August 12 – June 2015 ▪ CMO – Uni2 LTD www.uni-2.co.ukResponsible for the business’s marketing including (but not limited to) the printed magazine, promotional staff, web content, social media accounts and events. Safeguarding and proper use of the branding was also part and parcel of the role.

Main achievements July 14 – June 2015:

Developed a new concept to act as a Trojan horse for our upcoming app. This app would be an exclusive dating app just for university students. I pitched the concept to the board and it was approved.

Started work on the new app with our developers and was invited to be on a new business course in Nottingham called: NBG (Next Business Generation) in which we learnt how to test, how to iterate, how to market and the concept of lean business models.

Learnt a huge amount about digital projects, with specific focus on mobile apps from this project. Developed a new and fresh brand for the dating app, unfortunately the board had got cold feet about

the amount we were spending on various iterations and the marketing spend needed to launch the app into the market, therefore it has now been shelved in favour of the already profitable rental arm of the company.

Main achievements July 13 – June 2014: Reached over 8,000 like on our Facebook page. Reached over 8,000 followers on our Twitter account. Became top of Google search results for ‘student accommodation Nottingham’. By December were three months ahead of the competition and landlords started moving their accounts

over to us. Organised, sold and ran two successful group trips to Amsterdam for 30 students. Raised a further two rounds of investment and were awarded some match funding by Nottingham City

Council, quite a difficult thing to be granted. Pitched our company, our concept and vision at various networking events in order to raise further

capital for the app development, we successfully raised £50,000.

Main achievements August 12 – June 2013:

Worked very closely with our chosen marketing agency to create the brand, ToV, image and web presence that is still being used by the company to date. Uni2 are constantly complimented for their excellently executed brand.

Setting up of our very first office in Nottingham. We had the office branded and it now sits as our ‘flagship’ store and is a blueprint for every new office we open.

Being ‘headhunted’ by Microsoft as an up and coming company in the youth market. We were spotted by Microsoft and were subsequently encouraged to develop a digital product for our market.

We created a concept, pitched the idea to Microsoft and were awarded a grant of $10,000 to start development, along side commitment of a place on their ‘top app’ scheme.

Successfully organised, edited, sold advertising space and printed five editions of Uni2 Know magazine.

March 12 – July 2012 ▪ Founder – Uni2Know Magazine http://issuu.com/uni2know As founder my role was to understand what readers wanted, manage and commission articles, organise interviews, run the site, sell advertising and arrange distribution.

Main achievements:

Motivated a team of students to work for free in order to gain experience and help grown the business.

Picked up important printing knowledge, sold enough advertising and send the magazines to print. Released the first ever Uni2 Know magazine, printed 10,000 copies and was called into the university’s

marketing department as the magazine had caused such a stir around campus. Pitched the business to a panel of local business owners in a Dragon’s Den style competition and won

the top prize. One of the panel wanted to get more involved in the project and subsequently ended up being our first

investor. Persuaded another highly motivated and skilled entrepreneur to be our new business partner and

together we formed the Uni2 Group.

Sept 12 – Sept 2014 ▪ AEPi - Vice President & Entrepreneurs’ Society - President My role within both organisations was to help launch, raise awareness and increase membership.

Main achievements:

Both societies grew from 10 members and are now both flourishing with over 40 people. Our Facebook and Twitter accounts exploded and became highly populated and visited. My performance within AEPi was recognised and I was subsequently invited to America for AEPi’s

centennial celebrations. I was put up in the Waldorf Astoria and met several high up dignitaries whom are also part of AEPi.

July 12 – August 2012 ▪ Intern - Nuts Magazine I learnt a huge amount; content creation, online interaction, designs & how to run photo shoots etc.

Main achievements:

Had 6 articles published and printed. The initial design I did for a cover was later used as inspiration for the December edition.

Jan 09 – May 2010 ▪ Online Magazine (3rd Knipple) – Founder/ EICI was 16 and was looking for my first car, there was no reliable or helpful source of information therefore I decided to document everything I experience and learnt for others on my website.

Main achievements:

The blog became a really popular site in my high school. At one point I had over 20 writers and contributors. We got press access to several large shows because of the site. The blog was eventually shut down because the school found out about it and gossip about teachers was

being written and published.
