NATH Istanium® LED is the proposal from Simon Lighting to the market for massive introduction of LED technology in street lighting. NATH Istanium® LED is a luminaire suitable to operate between 6 to 10 meters high in Mixed Traffi c (M category) and Slow Traffi c (S category) streets, according to EN13201.

As average luminaire operating lifetime is about 22 years (and in some cases more), Istanium®
LED modules could be replaced after 12 -14 years of operation, meaning a high economic and
environment improvement comparing with other non-modular LED luminaires.

Low consumption, the reduction of components and using 100% reciclable materials like
aluminium or glass, contributes to reduce the carbon footprint impact during all life Cycle
(manufacturing, transportation, installation, operating and waste management).
GLOBAL SCOPE SAVINGS
Low side-surface of the cover involves a reduced resistance to the wind coefi cient and hence
the masts thickness and concrete dies could be reduced, saving costs of the whole installation.
ISTANIUM® LED TECHNOLOGY
WHAT MATTERS IS THE COMBINATION OF LUMINAIRE DESIGN WITH LIGHT SOURCE
Tests in our own labs, allowed us to design a luminaire from scratch
to fi t with Istanium® LED modules perfectly for a high performance in
thermal management to reach a double objective:
• Get the maximum luminous fl ux from the Light Source, reducing its
work temperature.
• Extend the life time of the Light Source.
Toolless optical group upgrading
Easy driver replacement
The fi ns of the sink in Istanium® LED modules produce an internal
convection of hot air to the cover that extracts the temperature
from the light source. Contact of the optical gear in the body also
contributes to reach working currents of up to 530 mA, enought to suit
the main applications of NATH.
The fl at design of the cover
avoids dust in the fi ns of the sink
and keeps luminaire performance
during all lifetime.
MODULARITY
Istanium® LED technology allows us to design a custom-made pattern.
Further than our standard modules disposition and patterns, Simon
factory can allocate the modules as your project requirements.
A NEW STREET USER EXPERIENCE
With a colour rendition (CRI) of 70, higher than most current HID,
pedestrians and drivers get a high comfort and percieve more real
colours
EASY MAINTENANCE AND FUTUREPROOF
With a toolless system, Istanium® LED optical gear can be replaced. It
allows to extend the lifetime of the luminaire body, effi ciency of light
source can be improved in following years, and each single board can
be repaired. As european manufacturer we supply spear parts further
than product lifecycle.

ANTI-GLARING ISTANIUM® LED TECHNOLOGY DESIGN
Istanium® LED technology has been designed to avoid direct view of
the light source and give a high comfort to the observer eyes of the
street users.
Other luminaires with direct glaring produces low quality lighting and
could bring on traffi c accidents.

ELIMINATING OBTRUSIVE LIGHT
Combining the NATH luminaire design and the Advanced Optical
System AOS, R&D department from Simon eliminated the Light
Pollution, keeping clear night skies and skeeping neighbour windows.
Other low performance HID luminaires produce high obtrusive light.
Istanium® LED technology with an ULOR below 1% allows us enjoy the
night sky.

AMMOUNT OF NECESSARY LIGHT
Choosing the number of Istanium® LED modules, the level of working
(high efi cient 350mA or high power 530mA) and dimming models.
WHERE THE LIGHT IS NECESSARY
Combining advanced optic systems AOS, dynamic electronic driver, an
innovative modularity and different intensities, we reach Iluminated
Surface Control ISC, the pattern can be changed dinamically without
any mechanic device. Simon custom builds your luminaire to fi t your
project requirements and keeping all the parameters within the
legislation currently in force.
Lighting only the required surface is the best way to save energy
WHEN THE LIGHT IS NECESSARY
Through dimming electronic control gears enables the customer
“Luminous Flux Control” LFC, dimming the light from 0% to 100%
during the whole night. Customers achieve savings of up to 70% with
regard to non-dimmable HID installations.
