WORSHIP SERVICE TIMES

In an era of constant change, we are bombarded by the “next best” this and the “must-have” that. When we pay attention to the world, it is easy to mark the passage of time by what we have accumulated rather than how we have served, and by what we own, rather than how much we love.

How can we cultivate contentment in our lives when we feel the pull of wanting more, newer, and better things? How can we more deeply embrace the truth that we don’t take material objects from this life with us to the next? How can we live in such a way that acknowledges that all we have is a gift from God?

For the next several weeks, Church of the Transfiguration will engage the question of what it means to have “enough.” Through a sermon series and adult formation classes, we will reflect together on how to cultivate real contentment by simplifying our lives – both our possessions and the time we spend maintaining them. We will explore how to experience deeper joy by growing our generosity and giving more of ourselves away for the sake of God and our neighbors. Through it all, we will consider how, by orienting our lives toward Christ, we can become our truest selves.
