Choosing the Appropriate Theme

PowerPoint technology is known for its

ability to present information in intriguing

and appealing ways.

Yet, this technology is confusing to use. Its

features can be used effectively or abused

to be a flashy presentation which is

actually a failed use of the PowerPoint

technology.

click the word DESIGN in the top left had

corner.

Choosing the Appropriate Slide

Once the appropriate template is

chosen, it is important to position your text

in the most appropriate place. This

requires you to choose the most

appropriate layout.

Step 1 Click on the home tab.

Then click on the arrow under the words

new slide. Doing this will allow you to see

all of the slide options available. Click on

the most appropriate slide.

If you don’t like the slide, delete it and

choose again.

Conclusion

To create basic PowerPoint presentations,

Chose the appropriate template for the

setting, the topic, and the audience.

Decide on the appropriate slide layout and

insert textual information.

Remember to save as a PowerPoint

presentation.

How to Use Shapes

Click on the box of outline shapes located

in a box on the home screen. It will

enlarge to give you more options.

Choose the shape and click to size and

position the shape on the screen.

How to Use Word Art

Click on the word insert to access the tab

which includes Word Art.

Click on Word Art, choose the text style

to use. (Word Art is best for small groups

of words.)

How to Use Smart Art

Click on the word insert to access the tab

which includes Smart Art.

Click on Smart Art, choose the diagram

to use.

How to Use Images

To add images, click on insert.

Click on the picture icon and choose the

picture you want, which is saved on your

computer.

Click and resize the image to fit in your

presentation. That’s

it!

Click on the word insert to access the tab which

includes Objects.

Click on the object icon and choose to either

make a document or attach a saved word

document, spreadsheet, or PDF you want.

Click and resize the image of the object to fit in

your presentation.

During the presentation, click on the object to

access it.

Click on the word insert to access the tab

which includes Table.

Click on the table icon and choose the

size.
