Making Quality Inspection Easy And Simple
ZFV-C Offers the Best Combination of Inspection Capabilities with its“Teach & Go” Concept
Target – Teach – Go!
Sets Up in Minutes, Even For First-Time Users
• Set parameters using a few buttons and theintegrated LCD color monitor.
• Operation menus and icons guide you through a simple set-up process.
• There’s no need to connect an external PC for set-up, maintenance or operation viewing
• Easy to set: Just Target, Teach and Go
• Color and shape matching functions
• Built-in color LCD screen shows a live image forinstant feedback during setup and operation
• No expert knowledge required to operate ZFV-C
• Minimized downtime for setup and maintenance
• Tools for simple presence detection to advancedpattern recognition
1. Go to the menu 2. Select inspection tool 3. Size and position inspection region 4. Teach & Go

Multi-Functional Inspection Capabilities
Choose the Right Inspection Tool for Reliable ResultsThese sophisticated capabilities come with a very intuitive user interface, where you can setparameters by simply touching a few buttons:
• Pattern Search and Pattern Matchfunctions with selectable rotation ranges
• Position match confirms presence andpositioning of workpiece; customizedbased on edge or color detection
• Count function counts elements in aworkpiece such as the number ofcookies in a tray
• Brightness detects density of color andscratches/dirt on workpieces
• Character match identifies entirecharacter string or detects one missingcharacter (version 1.3 and later)
• Hue matches color to a reference valuewith automatic or manual filterselection or monochrome conversion
• Area tool measures the area of shapesbased on picked up color or area ofeach selected color
• Width tool matches object width or thegap between items; customized basedon edge or color detection
Typical Applications
Verify if a symbol printed on a package ispresent and complete using a taughtfeature as a reference.
The Hue tool inspects caps for colordifferences. Caps that do not match themodel will be rejected.
The Width tool measures an object, inthis case a label, to verify that it is notfolded or cut.
With seven color filters in all, the ZFV-C automatically selects the one that obtains the most suitablecontrast, so there's no need to worry about color setting parameters.
Easy-to-Use Interface Makes Color Analysis Simple
The Next Best Thing To The Human Eye

Automatic Color Filter Selection Maximizes Image Contrast for Inspection Stability
The ZFV-C sensor is able to see and inspect multi-colored objects invisible for a grayscalesensor. Integrated color filters enable sensing of only selected colors when necessary to get a better image.
5
Extract Only the Relevant Colorfor InspectionOmron simplifies the color extraction process tosimple choices.
• Specify the area you want to inspect.
• The color components in that area are thenanalyzed and the extraction color candidates are automatically displayed.
• All you have to do is select the color to bemeasured.
Inspect for the Intermixture ofDifferent Cap TypesBottle caps with identical pattern and multi-coloredvariations can confuse monochrome vision sensors. The ZFV-C sensor extracts the multiple colors sothat the surface area of each color can bedistinguished. The results below show the coloranalysis that determines whether the cap matchesthe correct type for the beverage flavor beingbottled.

Easily Expandable CapabilitiesYou can set-up one inspection per controller butthe ZFV-C is scalable, so you can simply addcontrollers as required by connecting them to a common communication bus to expand thefunctionality of your sensor.
Large Range of Sensor HeadsFour adjustable sensing heads are available foruse with the ZFV-C color vision sensor.
• A Focus Adjustment function eliminates theneed to change the head for different sizes of work-pieces.
• Light intensity and direction can be adjustedmanually or switched off if an external lightsource is more appropriate.
• Field of view ranges from 10 to 150 mm. This enables inspection of large work-pieces.
Ultimate Scalability To Fit Your Needs
• Up to five controllers can be connected together
• Simple snap-on system allows multiple views andmultiple inspections on your work-piece
• For data logging, add communication and datastorage functionality with the optional datastorage unit (ZS-DSU)
• The ZFV-C sensor grows with you requirements toprotect your investment
