Prisma UT offers damping control to either optimise nearsurface resolution or energy transmission. Prisma TOFDUltrasonic Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) has gained inpopularity over the last decade and via the Prisma TOFD,Sonatest brings to themarket a truly portable and powerfulTOFDunit.
Knowing that TOFD inspection can be carried out on wallthickness as thin as 6mm (1/4”), the Prisma offers the bestdigitizingfrequencyofitscategorygoingupto200MHz.Simplyput thismeans thathigh frequency transducerscanbeused,ensuringthemostaccurateflawheightsizingpossible.
TOFDisaversatiletechnique;withtwoUTchannelsthePrismapermitstheinspectionofthickcomponentinasinglepass.Thisisenhancedbythehighvoltagesquarewavepulsersdeliveringupto450V,cuttingtheneedforanexternalpre-amplifier.
Prisma TOFD offers the complete hardware configurationto deliver the best performance, but it would be incompletewithout the on-board software features such as hyperboliccursors,lateralwavestraighteningandlateralwaveremoval.
