Christoph Schoerbach Simpson Couch Gag Opening Sequence The classic opening of the Simpsons series changed 2 times. I am going to analyse the old version of1990. This sequence starts with “Simpsons” approaching the camera through clouds and then leads to an establishing shot of Springfield. The camera then drives through the town and then trough a big window of an elementary school. This is the Moment where the first of the main Characters is getting introduced. Bart is here writing lines on a chalkboard as a punishment. The words he is writing are changing from episode to episode and often give the audience a hint about the plot of the episode but it can also be about present topic which has nothing to do with the actual episode. Then the shot cuts showing the main Character of the Series working at a Power Plant, wearing a safety mask while handling a rod of uranium with special tongs. The ambient scenario is that a co-worker is eating a sandwich with tongs too . The following shot shows the Marge (the wife of the protagonist) and a baby checking out at a grocery market. The Baby also gets priced

Simpson Couch Gag Opening Sequence The classic opening of the Simpsons series changed 2 times. I am going to analyse the old version of1990.

This sequence starts with “Simpsons” approaching the camera through clouds and then leads to an establishing shot of Springfield. The next shot shows Lisa, the daughter of the protagonist at Band practise the opening theme coordinates with this shot, and is orchestrated as if it were played by school class.

She gets thrown out by the teacher and improvises with the saxophone on her way out.

The shot shows the protagonist throwing uranium out of shirt and out of his car.

At this Moment are all the main figures on their way home, which getting visualised when they arrive at their home. When Homer arrives (the protagonist) he nearly gets killed by his wife, in a humours way.

The last shot (final shot) shows all main the characters sitting on a sofa watching TV, which is referring to the fact that many Americans are sitting half of their day watching TV.

Then the sequence cuts to credits appearing on a tv.
