From the Pastor
I would like to offer an additional thought from Sunday evening’s
study of I John. The Holy Spirit is an authenticating Spirit
(1 John 5:6–8), bearing witness to the person and work of Jesus Christ.
We can look to the Trinity of God and understand He is involved
in the life of a believer. God the Father commands us to love one
another, God the Son gave His life on the cross, the supreme example
of love. Also, God the Holy Spirit lives within us to provide the love
we need. To abide in love is to abide in God, and to abide in God is to
abide in love. Christian love is not something we “work up” when we
need it. Christian love is “shared everywhere through our hearts by the work of the Holy
Spirit,” and this is our constant experience as we abide in Christ. God’s love shared with
us and through us. What a blessing!
These are some exciting weeks coming our way! We will have Joshua Campbell
coming in view of a call as our Student and Discipleship Minister on Sunday,
September 30. The following week will begin our four days of revival services with
Randy Thomas and Dan Bellamy on Sunday, October 7. I hope you will make plans
to attend!
Blessed to be your pastor,
Bro. Tommy
