What is your relationship to your physical home and it’s other inhabitants like your family, your partner, your room mates? Do you love the house, the neighborhood, the city or town you live in? What would your dream home be like? Where do you belong? What makes you feel most at home? You will explore questions like these and your personal ones around your relationship with “Home” for yourself through your artistic work for personal growth. WHY HOME?

Siren Project sent out a survey to the women's’ community at large asking what should be the topic of this year’s Exploration and Exposé. “What issues are challenging women in the Bay Area that, if explored through creativity, will be insightful and empowering.” The responses led to Exposé | “Home”.

THE OBJECTIVESiren Project’s Annual All Women Exploration & Exposé Program is aimed at personal growth, sel f expression and increased creativity motivated by group process. Siren showcases the work of each artist for individual exposure and community impact. This is Siren’s 4th year of running this popular program.

THE PROGRAMEach year there is a central theme for participants to explore through their chosen creative outlet(s). Each class includes a lesson and a working session. All participants attends the lesson each day to experiment and expand their creative thinking through expressive arts games, coaching exercises and wellness practices.

During the working session each participant creates in her group of cho ice (wr i t ing, v i sua l ar t s or performance arts). One may choose to be part of only one group throughout

the program or join a different group each class. We welcome and encourage interdisciplinary work. The 15 weeks program culminating in a show and exhibition has 4 phases:

1. Ideation & Proposal | Over 3 weeks you will explore the topic “Home” through group lessons, exercises and interactive brainstorming leading to a written proposal.

2. Work in Progress | Over 6 weeks you will continue to receive experimental tools, techniques and training that will assist and motivate you to create while working in a group.

3. Feedback & Adaptations | Over 2 weeks you will receive feedback and suggestions from the facilitator and other participants which may lead you to make minor changes.

4. Show Preparation | Over 2 weeks (2 classes and 2 rehearsals at the show venue) you will prepare your work for the Show/Exhibition.

PERSONAL GOALSThis program inspires and encourages participants to build a solid body of individual work over 15 weeks. Showcase selections will be done by your facilitator with feedback from all participants.

• Writers are expected to produce between 6 to 10 pages of finished work

• Visual Artists are expected to finish a minimum of 6 pieces of work

• Performance Artists are expected to create a 10 mins solo (with the option of collaborating with another participant) performance piece

• Interdisciplinary Artists are expected to create an appropriate combination of pieces that work together

ABOUT YOUR FACILITATORThis program will be taught and facilitated by Roke Noir, originally from India residing in USA for the last 23 years. This is the 4th year she is teaching this program.

Roke is a creative writer, experimental mixed-media expressionist in the realm of v i sua l ar t s, a spoken word performance artist and theatre director.

S h e h a s a P h . D. i n A r t i fi c i a l Intelligence, is a professional Creativity Coach, has a Post-Baccalaureate Cert ificate in Visual and been performing and directing since her childhood.

In addition to this program which she has created for Siren Project, she runs Artists’ Way Groups and has opened an Arts Facility for Self-Sufficiency for Women in her ancestral village in India.

Roke will be inviting other guests teachers as appropriate.

DONATION - MONEY/TIME

We request a donation of $8 per class hour. For students and unemployed the a minimum donation of $5 per class hour is suggested. This program includes 45 class hours (15 classes - 3

hours each). A combination of money and time exchange can be arranged on request.

Three Assistantship Positions (60 hours) are available. There is no fee for Rehearsals and Show hours. No one is turned away for lack of funds.

The money generated by this program is distributed as follows:

• Payments towards space rentals (class and show/exhibition) and other production costs

• Payments towards materials for classes and show• Honorarium for Facilitator and other Guest Teachers• Any profit made from registration and show will be

donated to 1 or more non-profits working with homelessness like Bay Area Rescue and Sarah’s Circle.

HOW TO APPLY & REGISTER1. Fill in the Online Application Form.2. Since this program is run in an interactive and

collaborative fashion, all applicants are required to attend one of the 2 Discovery Sessions (2/9 OR 2/16). You can choose which one in the Application Form. This allows the applicants to ask questions and get an understand of the program in order to decide whether this program will serve them well.

3. At the end of your Discovery Session if you decide to take this journey you will be required to fill out the Registration Form and make necessary payment.
