A nominal coordinator is

... assigned to prepare the subject. This person may also be the subject coordinator but not always. If the subject coordinator is a sessional staff member, or on leave in the lead up to the session, they may not be available to prepare the subject. In these cases nominal coordinators are allocated. Allocations are based on familiarity with subjects, i.e., people from the subject team.

What does a nominal coordinator do?

1. Prepare subject outline (create an outline and amend as required)

2. In conjunction with subject outline prep, fill in parts 1 and 2 of assessment and moderation form

3. Send subject outline to QA, negotiate further amends and then publish

4. Check and revise subject modules, prepare interact site for teaching

5. Hand over to subject coordinator at start of session

... assigned to each subject and is usually a subject team member or at least someone familiar with the subject area. The QA person is responsible for signing off on parts 1 and 2 of the assessment and moderation form. They may also work on part 3 with the subject coordinator.
