his exquisite example of a Plantation Plain style home was built in 1856 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Local Harris County lore has it that the Copeland House was a center of anti-Union activity during the War of Northern Aggression. Thankfully, General Sherman did not pass through Harris County and we now have this treasured home to offer for sale. William and Ann Copeland, Jr. and their family arrived in Harris County before its incorporation in 1856 and became among the County’s richest planters.
