UNITAR-UNOSAT analysed satellite

imagery collected 15 April 2015 by the

Pleiades satellite over the city of Aden,

Yemen.

UNITAR-UNOSAT identified visible damage

of several structures at the Masheek

Peninsula.

The port areas still appear to be intact but

are partially covered by clouds. The

airport shows signs of some damage with

a possibly destroyed helicopter and at

least one nearby building, south of the

airport, destroyed.

Vehicle traffic is not heavy but cars are

visible all around the city.

UNITAR-UNOSAT analysis

indicates that the Masheek

Peninsula has now sustained

damage and at least three

destroyed structures and

one heavily damaged

structure are visible in the

imagery collected on 15

April 2015.

in the imagery.

UNITAR-UNOSAT analysed satellite

imagery collected 17 April 2015 by the

Pleiades satellite over the city of Sadah,

Yemen.

UNITAR-UNOSAT identified widespread

damage along the city. Imagery shows

numerous destroyed and heavily damaged

buildings and visible craters, with

damaged similar to that observed from air

strikes. Extensive damage is visible in

Sadah’s airport and several other

infrastructures have suffered severe

damage like a gas station, the electric

substation and government offices.

Traffic is visible in the area although there

are signs of access control points.

UNITAR-UNOSAT analysis

indicates signs of

bombardment in the

airport as extensive

damage is visible.

Imagery showed at least

five structures destroyed

and three craters on the

surface of the airstrip.

A destroyed structure and several severely damage are visible nearby Alhadi

Mosque, possibly part of Sadah’s Souq. Moreover, nearby Sadah’s Old City walls

there are several destroyed structures and a destroyed gas station.

Sadah electrical substation, located in the outskirts of the town nearby the airport,

appears heavily damaged as one of the structures within the compound is

completely destroyed.

Sadah’s Government Office has suffered possible bombardment as one of the

buildings is partially collapsed. Satellite imagery also shows that the Central Post

Office is heavily damaged
