Improved Results! “All Saints Academy is celebrating a sustained improvement in ‘A’ Level and Vocational qualifications in the 2017 KS5 examinations, with the average point scores per entry continuing to rise. We are extremely pleased to share that twenty two students have received a university place for September and one student has already left to attend university in America. “

Expectations

Students work highly independently in Sixth Form They must meet their course deadlines which are now visible on Show My Homework

Students must attend the Academy punctually and achieve a minimum attendance of 96% Students are treated as young adults, but they must continue to follow Academy rules

Students are expected to support the Academy community and act as role models We support students to find work experience placements or add this as a timetabled activity so they are prepared for life after Sixth Form

The conduct of sixth formers across the school is admirable and they act as good role models for younger pupils. Sixth formers are mature, respectful and ambitious and are complimentary about the lessons they attend.

Uniform

Feedback from student surveys showed that students wanted a professional business attire so some rules were adjusted to reflect this

Ladies can wear trousers, a sleeved top, skirt or dress, blazer, cardigan or smart jumper and formal shoes

Target Grades

Students have target grades which are set based on prior attainment and national figures We want students to have high aspirations and apply for university or higher-level apprenticeships

Student Support

Sixth formers are provided with sufficient guidance as they prepare for examinations and appropriate support in making applications for higher education, employment and training. They are well prepared for the next stage of their education and the world of work. Ofsted, 2017

UCAS Support Students are expected to take responsibility for their UCAS applications They have an excellent support team of tutors and teachers who assist in the UCAS application process 70% of the Year 13 cohort is applying to university

Careers Support

In addition to their Academy work placement, students are encouraged to become Prefects or apply to be Head Girl or Head Boy We have many opportunities for students to gain experience for their CVs or UCAS applications

Students attend trips to local careers and university fairs They are welcome to meet with the careers adviser to discuss options Weekly enrichment sessions teach students valuable life skills such as how to write a CV, what apprenticeships are available and the details about student finance

English and Maths GCSE

Leaders ensure that students who enter the sixth form without English or mathematics at GCSE grade C or above are well provided for in the sixth form, which is helping them to improve their grades.

Selecting Course Options

Typically, students require 3 A Levels to attend university We recommended all students select four A Level equivalent subjects that interest them on the options form. These may come from all one section of the form or across each category.
