What’s Behind the Zipper?

Page 3: Sketch

Ricky Leon Seagroves Sr.Ricky Leon Seagroves Jr.

There was not to much to be done with him. Just Color changes, dodged and burned in

Photoshop, and some hair coping and placement.

The zipper was cropped, manipulated with liquefi ed

( a tool in photoshop ) and put on a multiply

in transparency.

Each part had there own layer to better handle the piece.

This picture took most of the work.To same time on explanation I will shorten it

up. I was cut, cropped, dodged, burned, and the lower right side of the face was manipulated in liquefi ed and blurred.

Pretty Simple! Yes!

The Refl ection

The photo of April Harvey Whickie is her picture. She takes good pictures. I found this of her and got

inspired to do a piece about Refl ection. In the original she is hold a candle. That set the mood and

insperation of the sphere.

The sphere is a combination of emboss, layering, lighting, outer glow, inner glow, and shadowing. When I got the right picture of Rosita Lovetta Seagroves it was cropped, wrapped to fi t the sphere and blurred a

bit on the edges. As well as a little dodging and burning.

The trick isn’t knowing what to do and what steps to take them in but to play with the tools enough to

know what you want to do. The rest is trial and error.

“To have an Image you must fi rst Sacrifi ce your thoughts. To sacrice your Thoughts you must

fi rst have an image.”

IsisIsis, the Egyptian goddess of rebirth remains one of the most

familiar images of empowered and utter femininity.

Isis taught her people the skills of reading and agriculture and was worshipped as the goddess of medicine and wisdom.

Isis became the model on which future generations of female deities in other cultures were to be based.

“The One Who Is All”

a moon goddess

Isis became the most powerful of the gods and goddesses in the ancient world.

Her immense powers earned her the titles of “The Giver of Life” and “Goddess of Magic”

When reading about Isis I became inspired to do a piece about her. A simple piece but nice never the less.

I used Lisa Seagroves eyes To create this piece.

There shall come that dayWhen this women comes to meShe will be all that I had hoped

The fairest in history. She will be seen as this beauty

This shining ray of light. She shall set a glow

Even in the darkest of night. This women will captureThe meaning of her lifeShe will walk among us

Taking everything in stride. She shall fear nothing

And love allLet no man put her under

And let no man fall.I will touch her face

In complete amazementFor I shall know

She was just heaven sent.I shall embrace her beingand fall even more in loveI shall praise her essence

As a gift from above.I shall feel as I have known her before

But this women I now seeIs grown to be something more.

I know….There shall come a dayWhen she will leave me once more

And I will have to let goFor some other man is at the door.

But she shall knowthat she forever will have my love

For this women that stands before meShall always be known as My Dear Sweet Sophia

There shall come a dayWhen I see my fathers face.

I shall know my pathAnd shall see his grace.

He speaks to meWith such pride.I feel old and yet

He makes me young inside. He tells me stories

And we reminisce to remember.Ohhh… the pictures we paintedAnd even the ones still to render.

I remember my fatherI remember the days past.

I remember the simple timesAnd how long they would last.

I remember Wrestling,Jokes, and Laughter.

Even when times were hardHe didn’t make it matter.I learned a lot back then

And for that… I’m a better manMy father did so much

For having known were he has been.I know… There shall come a day

When all this seems surreal. He will look at me, smile and say

I love you... Gabriel
