Skill DevelopmentDuring the course of my project I have used various

softwares and websites to help me enhance the appearance of my blog posts, some of which I found

hard to use and others not so much.

Focus Group RecordingsIn order to present feedback from the focus group in an interesting way I have created a video which contains the screen of my computer with moving annotations on it. I have used two softwares called QuickTime Player and ink2Go, QuickTime Player was available on my computer where as I had to download ink2Go from the internet after finding it in a Youtube tutorial. Both of these programmes were relatively easy to use and they worked really well together. I used QuickTime Player to record the screen of my computer however it is compatible with Apple phones too and I used ink2Go specifically for annotations and highlighting of the page. After finishing the video and saving it, I uploaded it to Youtube because Youtube is conntected to most Apple computers so it was very fast to transfer it to blogger and it looks professional and therefore appealing. Progress Time Lapse iMovieIn order to show the progress of my magazine I have created three videos in iMovie. These videos are time lapses from the very start of the magazine showing construction throughout. This software was available on my computer which once again made it very easy to transfer it to websites such as Youtube.

The first image shows imported media into the software which could be easily transferred into the movie library, this gave the images an automatic duration of 5 seconds. For the video I have created for double page spread I have changed the duration of each clip to 2 seconds because I realised that 5 made the video too long. This allowed the image to appear fairly fast, showing the progress of the page. Overall, this was an effective way of documenting the construction. ConvertingI used this website in order to merge a few PDF files into one document because I found Adobe PDF extremely complex. I found Smallpdf on the internet and I decided to create my own account because it has a lot of very useful functions. These functions include converting and merging documents such as from word, edexcel, pdf etc. This is a free website which is useful for students like me however the only limitation is that you can use it twice every few hours. At first this process was extremely time taking when I made any mistakes however it was worth it. I then used this merged document in order to place it in Joomag to present my magazine in a very realistic way. Final music magazine from my blog can be found my clicking on the image on the right.
