Why collect feedback for training events? ● To better plan training agendas according to audience

skill levels, interests and expectations.

● To understand which elements of a training worked

(effectiveness) and in which context.

● To form a better understand the likely longer term

effects (outcomes/impact) of the training.

● Gather data for our/funder’s monitoring and

evaluation needs (as per program logframe and

selected indicators).

Tools for feedback collection from trainings

We have prepared a couple of tools for you:

1. A sample pre training feedback form and a

corresponding guide so you can adapt it to

your needs.

2. A standardised post training evaluation form

that will be added to the School of Data

website.

Objectives of form: To gather information that

can provide trainers with a good idea of the

background, current skills, interests, and

expectations of participants and thus help

trainers better prepare and tailor their agenda

to audience needs and expectations.

1. Gather information that can meet the monitoring and

evaluation needs of our funders (eg. background &

diversity information, overall participant satisfaction,

likely outcomes/impact)

2. Gather participant feedback on the different aspects of

our trainings, collate suggestions for improvement and

thus help us to better tailor future trainings to audience

needs and expectations.

Post training evaluation formParts:

● Background/diversity information (Event, name, gender, organisation, professional sector)

● Rate the different aspects of our training (Overall, content, trainers, and venue)

● Most important thing learnt (ie. most valuable part of the training)

● Suggestions for change ● Likely uses of new knowledge/skills (predicted

outcomes)● Brief testimonial● Permission to follow up
