TERMS & CONDITIONS 2019/2020 MTB PARK 1. Mountain Biking is an inherently dangerous activity. On the Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Park you will be exposed to some risks which may involve steep slopes, avoidable and unavoidable obstacles both manmade and natural on narrow trail and / or with poor traction. There will be exposure to the tracks outside edge. We will take every possible step to ensure your safety however, we can’t eliminate the risk of serious harm or death. Before riding ensure you are aware of the Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Park Responsibility Code. 2. Do not attempt any of the trails or features unless you have sufficient ability and skill to do so safely. Always ride in control and within your ability level. 3. Walking or riding up to access the Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Park trails is strictly forbidden. Any person caught attempting to do so will have their pass revoked. 4. The Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Park pass entitles pass holders to carriage up the hill in the gondola with one mountain bike. 5. The bike trails are a part of the Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Park and is within the Skyline Rotorua property boundaries. It is privately owned and is managed by Skyline Rotorua. 6. Selected cabins are designated for mountain biking only. Those not marked for mountain biking are not to be used. 7. Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Park reserves the right to suspend, put “on hold” or close mountain bike access at any time due to weather or hazardous conditions that may endanger clients, staff or damage tracks. 8. Please see our website for blackout periods. 9. The Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Park reserves the right to close mountain bike access for the purpose of events held at Skyline Rotorua. 10. Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Park reserves the right to change operational times or refuse entry at its own discretion. 11. Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Park passes are non-refundable and non-transferable. 12. Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Park passes must be presented to Skyline Rotorua to gain access to the gondola – no pass = no ride. 13. Unauthorized use of Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Park passes will result in the immediate revocation of the pass and/or a trespass order being put in place. 14. Before visiting the park you must ensure that your bike is in safe condition to ride. 15. The Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Park takes no responsibility for loss or damage caused to bikes while on site. 16. Appropriate riding attire must be worn at all times including closed toe footwear and upper body clothing. Helmet must be worn whilst riding the park. 17. Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Park passes cannot be purchased by any party or personnel whose business activity or terms of employment necessitates the use of any Skyline facilities (the card is not valid for commercial use) without the prior consent of Skyline Rotorua. 18. Walking the start feature on Mr Black will result in your pass being revoked. 19. Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Park reserves the right to review both cardholder benefits and prices. 20. Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Park is not recommended for first time mountain bikers. 21. All riders aged 12 and under should have the consent of a parent, guardian or care giver to ride in the Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Park. 22. Ensure you are physically fit to undertake mountain biking – if you are unsure check with your physician. 23. For safety reasons, we do not allow the following to access the Gondola for mountain biking: a. Children under 5 years (Unless closely accompanied by an adult) b. Pregnant women 24. Skyline Rotorua Mountain Bike Park reserves the right to refuse entry to any individual deemed unsafe to access the Gondola for mountain biking. 25. Skyline Rotorua MTB Annual Passes must be presented to Skyline Rotorua staff to access the card holder benefits for other activities and food and beverage products at the time of purchase. 26. ‘Youth’ is defined as 15years or under or those that produce a current student ID. 27. Youth Riders (15 or Under) must have parental consent to purchase a pass and ride the park. 28. For safety reasons children are not permitted to ride on the same bike with adults, this includes the use of bike trailers and “shotgun” style seats. 29. MTB Annual Passes are valid for 12 months from date of purchase.
