On Thursday 19th March 2015 Your child will lead you around the classroom and the school. If you would like to know how the conferences will look, take a look at the day.

Student Led Conferences in Grade 1

•You should enter the classroom with your child at the allotted time on the schedule sheet.

•Other families will be in the room at the same time as you.

•Your child will actively lead you through different stations, which are not in any particular order (see examples)

•Your child is encouraged to use their home language to explain their learning.

•Although the class teacher will be in the room, the conference will be led by your child.

• You can visit the subject specialists before and or after your allotted classroom time

Share…my learning

Students will guide their parents through different stations.

Your child will explain, demonstrate and interact with you at different tables to demonstrate

language, math and unit activities.

Share…my portfolio

Students will use their portfolios for sharing their

knowledge and understanding. Your child will talk you through selected

pieces of work in their portfolio

Celebrate and Reflect on my learning

Students will share their strengths and goals with their parents.

Your child will talk you through two things they see as strengths and one goal

they would like to work on. This is called ‘Two Stars and a Wish.’
