The Posterior Thigh
![Page 2: Slideshow: Posterior Thigh Adductors](https://reader031.vdocument.in/reader031/viewer/2022020113/58746d691a28abab198b89c5/html5/thumbnails/2.jpg)
The thigh is divided into 2 physical compartments divided by the
medial and lateral intermuscular septa
-Anterior compartment
-Posterior compartment
![Page 3: Slideshow: Posterior Thigh Adductors](https://reader031.vdocument.in/reader031/viewer/2022020113/58746d691a28abab198b89c5/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
The Posterior Compartment of the thigh has two functionally different sets of muscles
•The Adductors
•The Hamstrings
There is no distinct fascial boundary between the two groups
![Page 4: Slideshow: Posterior Thigh Adductors](https://reader031.vdocument.in/reader031/viewer/2022020113/58746d691a28abab198b89c5/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
In total the thigh is divided into 3 functional compartments
1. Anterior or Extensor compartment
1. Medial or Adductor compartment
1. Posterior or Flexor compartment
