Slow System Performance Workarounds

Please follow the steps in this document to improve the performance of workstations running the

kaspersky Release 2 product (6.0.4.1212).

These settings address the following issues:

• Slow printing

• IE takes a long time to load

• Applications load slowly

• Slow web browsing

• Outlook performance issues

• Overall system slowdown

• High CPU usage on admin kit

• DCOM errors (10016)

Fix DCOM errors:

Download tool and deploy via admin kit to all workstations and servers running network agent 8.0.2048.

The steps to make a package are provide below as well as the link to the napfix tool.

***Please note to stop the DCOM error run the disablenap.exe***

Modify Policy Settings

Add exclusion rule for ssv.dll [Java ™ Plug-In 2 SSV Helper]:

Add Trusted Application rule for ssv.dll [Java ™ Plug-In 2 SSV Helper]:

Disable Network Scanning:

Set Heuristic Analysis to “light for File Anti-Virus:

Enable On Access Scan Mode:

Set Protection Scope to Only Incoming Mail:

Set Heuristic Analysis to “light” for Mail Anti-Virus:

Set Heuristic Analysis to “light for Web Anti-Virus:

Disable ProActive Defense or Disable Input/Output redirection:

Create Network Agent Policy:

Disable “Information About Installed Applications”:

Disable Self-Defense [temporarily for 1 day]:

If other applications are being slowed down or blocked by kaspersky please use the template below to add the files to the

exclusion mask.
