Welcome to our special Small Acorns Holiday Edition…

It’s hard to believe Christmas and summer and holiday time are all just around the corner. It’s time to fill pockets of my home with the warm, bright and sunny colours of the new season, think about what we’re having for Christmas dinner and write that letter to Santa.

My Christmas is all about mixing old and new. New traditions made old, and old traditions made new. I love the idea of using all my old jars & bottles as vases on the table, with a mis-match of cutlery & crockery. My girls always decorate the tree with decorations collected or made over the years, & my favourite family tradition involves champagne, stockings and a lot of laughter on Christmas Eve!

We thought we’d help that shopping list of yours along with some of our favourite Small Acorns gift ideas, both to give and receive. And I’ve broken my ‘no snow’ rule because who can resist a cute homemade snow globe, albeit with a Small Acorns twist. We show you how on page 8, & I hope that you have as much fun making yours as we did making ours.

And beyond Christmas, there is the joy of a long carefree summer, filled with sunshine, sand and swimming. Best wishes for a very merry Christmas, and a wonderful, happy 2012. Let the festivities begin!

Amrapali Fabulously painted floral bouquets in the most beautiful colours adorn the exquisite new Amrapali collection by

Designers Guild. We think this is Tricia Guild at her very best – showing us that

bright bursts of summer colour can be introduced

into a room at any time of year. (And that florals

don’t have to be ‘Nana’!)

Click here to watch our Snow Globe Making Tutorial

This year we set ourselves a goal of making at least

30 snow globes for our store Christmas displays.

They look fabulous all piled high on the shelves!

We found it so easy and so much fun that we thought

you might like to give it a go yourself.

Whether you use this tutorial as something to

do with your kids, as small gifts, or as cute

table decorations, we think this wee project is

the perfect way to get into the spirit of the

holidays.

There’s no need to stick to the festive theme – we

have parrots, elephants and even a diver with a

treasure chest in ours…
