SMALL HEATH TIGERS FC 1.  INTRODUCTION

These disciplinary procedures are set to ensure the standard of cooperation, respect and team

work is maximised throughout your tenure with the team. As a member you are required tocomply at all times and work in the best interest of the team.

This document will be made available to all members on a general link within the club¶s

website www.smallheathtigers.co.uk . A team meeting will be called to explain, in detail, the

rules and penalties and the procedures. Members will as part of this meeting be informed of 

the availability of this document. Any newcomers MUST undergo a detailed walk through of 

these procedures before participating in any of the team¶s activities.

SMALL HEATH TIGERS FC 2. GENERAL RULES

You must ensure that you:

1.  Attend training, team meetings and matches on time

2.  Participate in all aspects of training as directed by the coaches and staff 

3.  Inform of any absence or lateness in advance to the coach in person or via

telephone (methods such as texts, online messaging, word-of-mouth are NOT

accepted)

4.  Ensure no foul language is used at all times

5.  Respect the decisions taken by the coach and staff in and out of training / matches

6.  Ensure you are not part of any other teams

7.   Not play in any competition on behalf of the team without consent.

8.  Take part in team meetings set by the coach or staff informed to you well in

advance

9.  Accept disciplinary punishments for improper conduct given by the coach or staff 

in training or matches without further delay

10. Accept any decisions taken by the coach during training and matches

11. Perform any given punishments immediately unless otherwise specified by the

coach or staff 

12.  Not involve in any improper conduct such as unnecessary tackles, foul language

and violence (i.e fights)

13. Treat all individuals including players from other teams and visitors with respect

14. If under 18 years provide proof of parent permission to join the team

15. Inform of any medical conditions immediately

16. Always speak out against any inappropriate conduct to a member of staff

The following list gives examples of behaviour that are normally regarded as gross misconduct: 

1.  Fighting

2.  Assault on another person

3.  Deliberate damage to Club property

4.  Bringing the Club into disrepute by actions or words

5.  Serious negligence or disregard of the Club rules that causes, or could have caused,

unacceptable loss, damage or injury.

6.  Serious act of insubordination, including the failure to follow or observe reasonable

instructions of the team coach/manager.

4.1 PROCEDURE

In the event that a member of the Club is alleged of gross misconduct by a match referee or other 

authority, the member shall be automatically suspended; pending investigation/disciplinary

hearing. 

1.  In the case of players, the individual will not play in a match nor be allowed to train until

an emergency meeting of the Club Committee has been convened. 

2.  An emergency meeting of the Club Disciplinary Committee will be convened within 2

weeks of the incident. Comprising of the Disciplinary Chairman, Club President and/or 

Vice President and other Committee members to constitute a quorum of five. The

committee members will be mutually agreed by the Club President.

3.  The individual involved will be asked to attend the meeting

4.  The individual will be asked to recall the incident, to confirm that they understand the

charges, explain their actions and to answer questions regarding the incident. Witnesses

may be called by members/players charged with serious/gross misconduct. The Club also

reserves the right to call witnesses if deemed appropriate.

5. 

At the end of the hearing once all the evidence has been heard the individual and or their representative will be entitled to make a closing submission to the Disciplinary

Committee.

6.  After the closing submissions, all other persons shall withdraw whilst the Committee

considers the evidence and submissions. It will determine whether the breach has been

 proved or not, and what actions are to be taken as a result.

SMALL HEATH TIGERS FC 7.  The individuals will be re-called to the meeting and notified of the Committee¶s decision

which will be confirmed in writing.

8.  Should a person charged with serious/gross misconduct not attend the Disciplinary

Meeting then a decision will be made in their absence and the decision of the Committee

will be confirmed in writing to the player.

The Committee have the authority to take whatever action is appropriate within the club

constitution. In the most serious of cases this could lead to dismissal from the club. Individuals

will be required to pay for any damages caused as part of such incident.

5. DISCRIMINATION

In the event any member feels that he/she has suffered discrimination in any way or questions the

fairness of the club management including staff and volunteers they should report the matter to the

Disciplinary Panel Chairman or another member of the management committee.

The report should include:

  Details of what, when and where the occurrence took place.

  Any witness statement and names.

  Names of any others who have been treated in a similar way.

  Details of any former complaints made about the incident, date, when and to whom made.

  A preference for a solution to the incident

6. DISCIPLINARY HEARING

A disciplinary hearing is established to ensure that any issues that arise and otherwise through

the automatic process might jeopardise the aim of the team are handled through a review

 process. The hearing will apply the same fair rules to all its attendees regardless of whether a

 player or a member of staff was under this process. Members referred to this process must

comply with its requirements and any decisions it reaches as final. The Disciplinary Panel

Chairman is independent from the coaches and has no bias towards players and enhances

fairness and unity. The Club President, Head Coaches and the Disciplinary Panel Chairman

will form the Disciplinary Panel, the Disciplinary Panel Chairman has the highest authority in

this board.

SMALL HEATH TIGERS FC 7. APPEALS PROCEDUCE 

To ensure that the Football Club maintain a fair, balanced and reasonable position in all

disciplinary matters we have concluded that any disciplinary penalty imposed will be open to

an appeal hearing.

The appeal must be made in writing to the Disciplinary Panel Chairman (DPC) within 7 days

of the penalty. The Disciplinary Panel Chairman will notify the person making the appeal of 

the time, date & venue for the hearing. The DPC will consult the Club Committee and

 perform a thorough investigation and provide a written conclusion. The conclusion reached

 by the Appeals Panel is final and will be notified to all, including the Club Committee within

7 days.

8. AGREEMENT
