SMART GIRDNetwork created through the combination of
information technology, Communication technology and Electrical Power system is called Smart Grid.
Smart grid delivers electrical power to the consumers using two way digital technology.
Monitors the supply to the consumers and measurements.

Features of the smart GirdFollowing are the features of smart gird….Reliability Flexibility in network topologyEfficiencyLoad adjustment/Load balancingDemand response support

Reliability
It improve fault detection and allow self-healing of the network without the intervention of technicians.
This will ensure more reliable supply of electricity, and reduced vulnerability to
natural disasters or attack.
![Page 5: Smart Gird](https://reader030.vdocument.in/reader030/viewer/2022032503/55bac666bb61eb11118b4613/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
Flexibility in network topology Transmission and distribution infrastructure
will be better able to handle possible bi-direction energy flows, allowing for distributed generation such as from photovoltaic panels, fuel cells, wind turbines etc .
Where Classic grids were designed for one-way flow of electricity, but if a local sub-network generates more power than it is consuming, the reverse flow can raise safety and reliability issues. where A smart grid aims to manage these issues.

EfficiencyNumerous contributions to overall
improvement of the efficiency of energy infrastructure , in particular including demand-side management. also having more efficiency as compare classical gird.

Difference b/w Classical and Smart Gird.CLASSICAL GRID:Limited Delivery System.High cost of power outage and power quality interruption .Inefficiency at managing peak load.Communications too slow.SMART GRID:
