ELECTRICAL GRIDAn electrical grid is an interconnected network for delivering electricity from suppliers to consumers. It consists of generating stations that produce electrical power, high-voltage transmission lines that carry power from distant sources to demand centers, and distribution lines that connect individual customers

Power grid in India
The country is geographically divided in five regions - Northern, Eastern, Western, North Eastern and Southern. The first four out these five regional grids are operating in a synchronous mode .
The Southern Region is interconnected with the rest of India grid through asynchronous links.

Introduction to Smart Grid:-• In definition, Smart Grid is a form of electricity network utilizing digital technology.
• It connects between suppliers, distributors and consumers. • It delivers electricity from suppliers to consumers using two-way digital communications to control appliances at consumers homes; which in deed will saving the energy, reduce costs and increase reliability.
• A key feature of the smart grid is automation technology that lets the utility adjust and control each individual device or millions of devices from a central location.
